the Graphics Flavor Mod

Excellent news and what a difference it makes :)

On saying that I must admist to just starting a game using it. The Germanic Spearman and the European Swordman are superb - no doubt I will be equally impressed with the other units as well.

Excellent mod and I appreciate the tremendous amount of work that you have put into this creation - well done :)

EDIT>>>>

I was continuing to play the game and all was well until....

This error was then produced and the game ended

Conquest version being used.
I installed the following...
Civ 3
PTW
C3C
Then 1.27f patch for PTW
Then 1.02 patch for C3C
Then GFX_Flavour.zip (27mb)
Then GFX_Flavour_C3C_Patch_1.25.zip (17.4mb)

Do I need any of the other units - I do see a 'longboat' link on your first page. Where do I put those...? The D:\Civilization 3\Conquests\Art\Units folder already has a Crusader but no Longboat. It doesnt have a GIDustin-NapoleonicRifleman.zip type of folder so is a folder structure needed etc etc etc.
But on writing that I did read...

If you are downloading the Conquests version, you do not need to download anything else

Sorry for asking what should be obvious - but for me it isn't :)

Morgan

Ok, I got good news!

You can continue that game, after you apply this patch (atleast I think you can).

This is the PediaIcons.txt file, you need to extract it to the "GFX_Flavour/text" - folder.

EDIT: The patch has been updated. Sorry for not fixing the problem in the previous version of this patch,
EDIT2: The patch has been updated again. Thanks to Morgan for finding all the errors. And I'm sorry that I havn't tested this enough myself...
EDIT3: Patch updated to version 1.28. Crossbowmen costed 1 shield in the previous versions. That has been fixed now.
EDIT4: New update. Patch version 1.29. Fixed some issues with the Civilopedia that made the game crash.
EDIT5: New update. Patch version 1.30. Fixed some issues with some units not requiring iron and the like

Thanks Grey Fox it would be great though if you could answer any of the above points regarding the installation of those units mentioned. :)

If you are playing the Conquests version, you do not need any other file then the files before that red text about you not needing any more files ;)

It's just nice to know that someone is playing this mod :)

If there are more players out there, please post your experience, what's good, what's bad about the new units? etc.

Find a bug, please post about it immediatelly.

And if you got a cool screenshot from playing the mod, please post it too :)

Morgan, download the patch again, I've updated it. It should work now, I've tried it myself.

Hope there's no more errors

;)

Thanks for reporting the bug. :)

Yeah Morgan u are right he's not finished patching it up yet.

So hurry the f*uck up Lazy Fox :P

Just kidding, no hard feelings bro. But serious try to get out a new version before late night wednesday. So I can play the game without too many crashes in my loooooong christmas break.

U know the drill Lazy... uhmm Grey Fox - put up the latest version on the grey boxy (yeah I'm a buddy of Grey Fox, and yeah we got a file-server, and yeah we do play civ togheter sometimes, and sometimes we liekekei liekek omg omg civ is really a great game). And liek I'm tired....

Over and out

Hello Grey Fox

Great news on the latest fix - when you have done a patch are the fixes cumulative - so the latest is the only version needed to be installed or do you need the others as well...?

Morgan

I replace the old patches every time, so it's always only the latest you need to download, if you got the base pack already.

And just out of interest, you always update the base pack to the latest version too, right? :) I mean, it'd be silly to download the base pack, and then have to also download the patch -- don't you think? ;)

I can do that at times, yes.
Although, every time I have to do that I need to contact TF, and get an upload account etc... it takes longer then just releasing small patches.

But I will do it soon.

Oh okay! What a hassle.

Thanks Grey Fox! Hope you didn't think I was calling you silly. Just it seemed logical to keep the main file up to date, and have the patches for people who've downloaded before... ;)

Looks like a nice mod, by the way! Not sure how I'm going to get 27 megs through this 56k modem, though... :(
