The Great Armada (West Europe 1580 - 1640)

I agree with that but I think it´s pretty much work to create a scenario... . The good thing is that everyone is looking forward to these scenarios^^

I played it with my brother yet. It was pretty much fun...I love those Irish soldiers...pretty good work.

Hi all and thanks for continuing support.

I am sorry for the dealay but I could not use a browser to come and post at CFC for a while.

The good news is version 2.0 will be posted tomorrow or the day after (depends on when I can upload and get the URL).
It will include 2 versions :
- 1 : Spain + Ireland + League vs France + England + Dutch, Scotland as freebie and Maghrib vs Spain (as now)
- 2 : Ireland + Spain vs Dutch + England + Scotland, Maghrib freebie, France vs League (VPs are different).

I failed to completely revamp the diplomacy for now. I might finish it later and propose it for annex download later.

As far as I know all bugs and game bugs have been corrected so it should be a definitive version.

WooT! im so excited I just cant HIIIIIIDE it! doo dee dooooo!

v2.0a uploaded. New main TGA file (art and text) uploaded.

V2.0b and MP version will be published tomorrow.

You need to (re)download/(re)install the main TGA file first before downloading and playing the biq or the game will crash !

Theres no way im not first to download. Cant WAIT for the 2.0b! Sooooo excited!

I started editing Civlopedia (nothing major, just a few spelling things... Civlopedias are monsters, oh Great and Might Lord Creator of Sweet A$$ Scenarios! and its not worth your time so Ill look through and fix ;p)

Are Dutch supposed to be in Council govt at start? Odd but Logical too... onward!

(Started my first game as England, but took a look around and decided to go Dutch. Can still load riders into armies, not sure if this is bad or good).

Upgraded terrain art to Rhye's. Mostly just looking at Civlopedia entries and thinking of strategies... spooky spaniards!

Disbanded some Carracks... not much chance ill be going overseas, and although it would be nice to drop some troops behind Spanish lines and cause some havoc... no. ;p

Art Shows everywhere! Why are my people painting instead of fighting? Because they are a bunch of whiny twerps!

MUCHO LUX from France! w00t France! ... with great trepidation i hit enter on turn one... who knows what the mighty mighty spanish have up their stinky sleeve!

The Spanish actually have not been attacking me. The French Catholics have. Non stop. Poorly. So now I have a fairly good force of defenders, many elite, but no units capable of actually capturing a city yet.

Ireland was entirely annexed by the Brits, but not until after their starting position was nuked by raging Irishmen.

The Maghrib pushed the Spanish out... and has also taken some French Catholic cities...

Noticed musketmen do not upgrade to muskets...

Noticed pikemen DO upgrade to pikes

I was wondering if you could perhaps give all buildings the ability to reduce pollution, because it is incredibly annoying to clean up... thank the lord for civ4

England took Glasgow and burned another Scottish town, and the Maghrib took the city of Tarbet. The Maghrib is entirely too adventuresome in this one! England and the Maghrib also occupied some towns along the french Northern Coast!

Other than that its been many turns and quite entertaining. Next turn or so im gonna finally occupy Maastricht and then things will start moving for me.

EDIT: AHHH! I hit enter and INSTANTLY pollution hit two more squares! So now two of my cattle and one of my wheat are polluted! WAHHHH

Tech pace is very fast. By the time I got to the method it was already worthless, and its only game turn 52

Lost a TON of armies attacking Antwerp, but usually im trading army for Tercio, which is fine because my guys are replacable and theirs arent.

Im pumping arty too, but most of my cities are working on mills right now so no go.

My spies showed me that Amsterdam had more troops than ever!

LOU! How do I get to Future Tech??? All my stuff is researched and I cant leave the science screen!

Isn't the maximum tech pace still 8 turns per tech?

And why would you want future tech? Isn't the money better spent on units and happiness?

Because you have to pick a tech or you cant leave the science screen. As in you cant play. Period. I couldnt pick a tech and had to quit. As in CTRL ALT DEL quit. Because the game wont let you quit. Or do anything. And I was done with research before turn 70. So I had a lot of killing to go. Not a happy moment, since I was about to start the final assault.

I was playing on Deity, so the AI was able to keep up handily, so the tech speed was 4techs every 8 turns. As you can see, thats a little more rapid than normal.

Ah, a bug. Thought you just wanted to research those useless future techs for points like some people do in epics.

Having the min. tech rate to 4 turns for AI in deity kinda sucks I think, I like that it's not such a race. But then, I only play multiplayer these days so if others like it that way..

I actually think that min. research pace should also be 8 turns in epic civ, the techs are always researched way too quickly and many units are never used before they become obsolete.

OK apparently there are balance issues and the tech bug.

Not so nice to change era in terms of polishing but... I think I have corrected both these issues in a new biq.
That means v2.0b will be delayed until tomorrow at least.

I have changed English troops order so that it could resist the Irish assault. Silly me I forgot to put useless wonders so that the Irish don't raze the English cities :(

And doing it would mean another main folder.... which I don't want to do right now.

Anyway new 2.0a biq uploaded. Please use this one from now on. And no need to redownload the main TGA file !

BTW I almost forgot. Thanks a lot for your kind words. If that scenario pleases you and give you enjoyable hours of fun then it fulfills its aim.
And in all modesty I must say I am quite proud to have a scenario where naval warfare really plays a role.

Hope you enjoy the new version which is bug-free and more complete.
