Exactly. That's why i think if it's anyone, it should be the Swahili. I mean they might have not been as advanced as the ethiopians and malinese, but certeinly not primitive. and they had a big role on trade routes, arabia etc.

The Holy Roman Empire was a military coalition with a fancy name. There was no "Holy Roman" Empire and there were certainly no "Holy Romans". To even attempt to say that there were just pays lipservice to their arrogance and lies.

To be honest with you, I don't really care much for the HRE, but they deserve their place more than the Maasai.

I never said it was a particularily good military coalition. The general idea was an alliance of Christian nations against infidels wrapped up in the false glory and pretension of claiming to be the successor of ancient Rome.
There was of course a lot of in-fighting as is inevitable in such a frankly silly organisation; it wasn't really an alliance for mutual benefit, more like a "family" of spoiled kids squabbling with each other to please their "father" (the Pope).
