The "I Got A New Game!" Thread

Do the world a favor and just get a new 360. PS3s aren't worth it.

i disagree. the 360 is only marginally cheaper if you factor in the extra cost of paying for xbox live (and frankly, i don't think that psn is considerably worse than xbox live). meanwhile, the xbox is one of the most unreliable consoles ever made (i know a guy who has gone through 4 different 360s, and everyone knows all about the issues the xbox has had, and in many cases still has). the difference in quality and variety of games on each console is far less than it used to be, so unless you have any overwhelming desire to play halo 3 (and i don't know why you would, it is a very mediocre FPS, that is vastly overhyped), that is no longer a factor. also, the xbox controller weighs about 4 times more than the ps3 controller. playing on the xbox feels like playing with a brick instead of a controller.

That's the main reason I much prefer using the xbox controller. The ps3 controller is alright, but way too light and flimsy feeling, like I'm using some cheap chinese knockoff, except obviously it's unfortunately the official product.

While I don't have a problem holding the x-box controller, it would be nice if it was lighter. The PS3 controller is nice and light and definitely quite sturdy (although we haven't banged them around HARD they have been dropped and knocked onto the floor numerous times).

I've gone through at least 10 ps2 controllers, and we never played it all that much. Though I am known for my throbbing rage!

Then any controller would break.

Do you really think the Xbox controller is that heavy? It doesn't really feel all that heavy to me.
The XBOX 360 controller is definitely heavier.

it is considerably more heavy... i have never really played on an xbox for a long period of time (perhaps an hour or so), but i can imagine that my wrists would grow quite tired of holding that controller up. compared to that the ps3 controller is much nicer, it fits snugly in your hands, the joysticks are far more usable and easy to control (and in better positions - really microsoft, why would you have an unsymettrical controller?). as for the durability, it isn't very hard not to drop your controller on the floor constantly

Except I've never broken a controller for any other system.

Then you are lucky. I broke my sixaxis controller six times now, and everytime it happens my palms are sweaty.

what sixaxis is that?? the dualshock 3 doesnt get all sweaty, or you must sweat like a fat guy attempting to beat Usain Bolt's record.

The joysticks aren't really that hard to use, you just have to get used to them. Just like if you had been playing on an Xbox 360 for a long enough period of time, you would have to get used to the PS3 controller. In fact I find the unsymmetrical joysticks somewhat easier to use, although again I use the Xbox controller more. And as I said while the 360 controller is heavier, it's really not all that heavy.

@ PrinceScamp,

oh I always thought the Joysticks were sweating like crazy, but now I know it's just me (sarcasm)...

My point was is that the Dualshock 3 has a different texture which doesn't get all slippery if your hands or palms or your P^n|$ for all I care are sweaty.
But I guess you are right about the weight of the controllers, but I won't agree with you all the time young man!
Even if your post count is OVER 9000!!!!!

If you want to know just weigh the things for crying out loud! And personally I prefer the heavier (which I'm pretty sure it is) xbox controller.

Picked up SoulSilver about a week ago. Very satisfied thus far. About to head for the Radio Tower.

Im basically at the fight with red. Freaking impossible. Level 81 pikachu with volt tackle? OTK's everrrryyything.
