The "I Got A New Game!" Thread

What game is Sonreal playing in your sig? It sounds like Dwarf Fortress until he said town. Speaking of DF, it could use pirate raids. Oh the FUN! that would result in.

Anyway, I got Dead Island: GOTY for free just from connecting my Steam account on Raptr. I don't get the code until the 28th, but whatever, free game to play... eventually. They apparently have 5000 codes to give out though.

I suppose I could say I got Black Ops II on Steam's free weekend. Rest assured that I will not be purchasing the full game. The multiplayer is so much like the old games it's not funny. Still the same gameplay, still full of 12 year olds, still full of internet tough guys, still boring. Oh I miss the days of Call of Duty 4.

They do next to nothing between releases. I sincerely wish I was exaggerating. It's basically Madden with guns.

It's DF's adventure mode.

Also, it's not FUN!, it's just Fun. You may have confused it with !!SCIENCE!!

It is also capitalized in the comic, but my capitalization was mostly for emphasis.

That isn't allcaps and the exclamation point is just there to end the sentence.

How the hell did Dead Island get a GOTY edition? That game is a bugged mess

I have dead island, haven't played it yet. Got it on some steam sale. What's is raptr? I want free games!

Anyway, it's an oldie but a goodie, pirates the pc version circa 2005. Just played it first time over the weekend. It's a tad easy to get every accomplishment, gonna try upping the difficulty from adventurer to swashbuckler and see how bad it is.

I really like DF.

I was playing the Masterwork mod. I also tracked the the girl's family down through legends viewer.

She had been kidnapped and taken prisoner by bandits (which I was). Her mother was the general of an enemy civilization (which she won). There was only one battle, but importantly, it includes a few important people, such as the snatcher who would kidnap her daughter a few years later.

We died because of centaurs I believe.

Also, the Masterwork mod includes Orc Fortress, which allows the ability to launch raids and bring back plunder. Being a mod, implementation is varied. Namely, it is suggested you build the building required for the interaction on the edge of the map for realism sake.

I got the same opinion. Somehow, playing Black Ops II led to a whole ton of annoyance on my end from ITGs. Chivalry: Medieval Combat's community, at least from what I saw, is a lot nicer for a game where TKing is hilariously common (usually on accident).

I dunno, it's hard to get a grasp of. I'm having a hard time getting the idea that I'm God-Emperor of whatever kingdom out of my head. Also in addition to not knowing what I'm doing I feel like a lot of what I do is secretarial, file paperwork with France, wait for favorable response, wait for acceptance, appoint courtier, issue order for plot, wait for favorable response, offer marriage, wait for response.

Granted I've only played for a few hours so maybe once I get a better feel for the game I'll enjoy it more. It's weird though, it's like all of medieval Europe and the Middle East is this really loose Game of Thronesy social set-up, in a way that never really existed outside of maaaayybbbbeeee France. Also my temptation to revoke titles and imprison and execute nobles every-time they demand lower crown authority just seems to be causing more civil wars. Must I kill everyone? Because I will if I have to.
