I'm reinstalling R:TW so I can use the Gauls on VH/VH to own the Romans.

May I suggest getting Europa Barbarorum? It's like getting a totally new game, and one from a recent time, not 2004.

EB is why I worry about CA making Rome 2, because they will make Rome 2 but I know it will be nowhere near as awesome as EB is, I also worry they won't provide proper mod support.

Only bad thing about it from what I could tell were some of the battles were agonisingly slow. If you didn't have the shock infantry or heavy cavalry to break the enemy lines be prepared for a long fight.

I have heard Roma Surrectum is a good mod too, although I haven't played it. I don't know if it contains the historical depth, detail and background history that EB is rich in though.

Your virus protection software may try to delete it. I think it's a .exe file. I don't remember.

You're AV shouldn't be trying to delete it.

It was trying to delete the .exe file, though, and for most mods, it's just a .zip. I had to turn my AV off to install RS.

Are you using AVG? I got rid of it because it kept quarantining the Warband beta .exe file.

I had Earthlink Protection Center, but since I got a new computer, I've been using the Win7 AV. No trouble so far.

I agree it's a fun game. But something about it was just not able to hold my interest. I got bored with it before I even completed Act I. I feel bad though because it was a Christmas gift that I asked for because the game looked awesome.

Apparently the game is moddable and there are a number of mods out for it, worth a look!

It seems that you just have to treat it as another "Kill all the zombies!" game.

I have the 360 version so no mods for me. Not to mention, I play games for their story and the story of this game just did not keep me interested enough to even play past the beach resort area. If anyone can convince me that the story picks up later on, then I might be able to suffer past the slow beginning and finish the game.
