The trailer is very good. Is there a chance that this will be a decent film?
They don't reveal much in the trailer, which likely is part of the reason it is a good trailer.

I see they're planning on making several movies based on DC comics so this may not be the start of a series involving the Joker

I like Jack Nicholson's version, wait'll they get a load of me, but Heath Ledger's was better. Or maybe the movie was just better.

Many of the scenes really interested me, it is not just about the action, but the drama, the psychology, the human sites of him, I really hope they can execute it well. However I'm worried they over simplified the cause like "because he is a nice clown that want to makes everybody happy, people getting cruel and abusive to him, and step over his dignity and whatever, hence he lost his mind and embrace the madness". I really hope they can bring something more profound, and a less cliche cause for his madness.

There will always be comparisons to Heath. And I don't see how they can be favorable.

The character should have been retired from film after that, but there's money to be made...

If they do the GF thing with Quinn, that might salvage it. ;)

Actually i prefer the trailer Joker to Heath's, despite not liking Phoenix much (if at all).
The role suits him, imo.
Maybe the movie is easier to be good due to the absence of Batman ;)
(notice the stealth Deniro, 1,5 second in the trailer)

All of Batman's serious enemies escape from prison or Arkham time and time again, to keep them available for yet more stories. It's like the places have revolving doors on them, just for that purpose.

I met him once. It's been several years. He was not as big a star then though he did have a nice quote, "Hollywood pays well, but they treat you like **** to make up for it."
lol

Slither was staple viewing in my college days.

In this week's episode of The Rookie, Nathan Fillion and Gregg Henry had a scene together. Fillion plays the titular police officer and Henry played a judge. Of course I couldn't help thinking, "If I weren't about the [crap] myself right now, I'd be [flipping] fascinated."

Not sure if people just randomly beat up clowns in 'Merca. Going by the trailer it is the norm ^_^

It is like when you spot a clown in a train then you went like "ah look what we have here, Mr. nice guy who want to makes everybody happy, lets beat up this weakling" I mean I see a million of that kind of "pure evil" scene.

Instead of that I prefer they add Joker's abusive father. Or about his wife and his failed family's life which all of that already derived from the previous Batman movie. Combine that with the role of his lovely mother, and the deep mother and son relationship between them, I believe it will creates a nice light and dark effect to this film, people will confuse who to react emotionally to the story.
