The Kingdoms of Imsdan: Lizard's NES

Nice stories. Orders are due tommorow, Saturday, at 12:00PM American Eastern Time

The Economic Thesis of Yethoan

A student in the one of Yuseam's university of Economic Theory, where people come and think about how money works. Yethoan was noted for his Thesis to graduation, and is currently appointeded as Governer of the Federal Bank after earning his Economics Degree.

The world is governed by simple laws.

Material moves from where there is much of to where there is a lack of.

One can see it everywhere: weak nations are taken over by outflowings of stronger ones. Rain follows drought, dryness follows floods. Life comes after death.

However, in economics, there is a third variable: currency.

As we all know as merchants, the more the customer wants, the more they pay: the problem is how to keep prices high without it dropping after every shipment?

As the rule of supply and demand goes, as supply comes in after a convoy, demand is satisfied, and the price goes down.

And here is my solution: we will build a series of Guild-owned Warehouses along the ports. When our convoy arrives we take it all into it, and sell it slowly. As demand is only satisfied slowly, the prices are stable, and the profits higher. When the last good or service is sold, the next convoy arrives.

Buy Yethoan's full 92 page thesis today and jumpstart your carrer asa a merchant, or just earn more as a farmer by buying the 10-page booklet on warehouse use. Talk to the Bookshops at the crossroads of Vian Yusai and Vian Tordai, and the kiosks in the forums of the third quarter!

It was a day of celebration in Tasck. It was Prince Horfina's wedding day, to the Princess Meyerre-Gesia of Creul. It was taking place in the Citadel of Tasck, dedicated to the Powers of the World, Mother Bear, Father Wolf and the Life Spirit.

At the very back of the Citadel, on a raised dais, were the two betrothed, awaiting the Hight Priest to finish the long wedding-speech. Below them, to the right (as is tradition), sitting in the Royal Boxes were King Offiya and Queen Gryork. Taking up other seats at the front was the Prince's brother, Heir-Prince Pacer, and his expecting wife, Coryd. Then the rest of the immediate royal family. Behind them were various nobles and important people from across Randpol.

On left was the much emptier bridal side. The Princess' father wasn't there, possibly busy trying not to get his country over run. Othe rfamily members were there. Offiya made a mental note to talk to them at the party at the palace after the ceremony.

The youngest prince, Ioran and his sister Inchele were getting bored. Like all people who had either not finished puberty or hadn't yet reached it, they had the an attention span roughly equivalent of a man in a brightly-coloured uniform jumping up and down on a rock in the middle of a battle shouting 'shoot me, shoot me'. So their minds wondered to the interior of the Citadel.

Everything about it suggested power in the highest form. The tall spires around the central dome pierced the horizon of Tasck. The laws of the city said that nothing could be as tall as the Spires. This was largely because the Spires of a Citadel, not just the ones in Tasck but any in Randpol, were used as watchtowers and beacons. Villages just had Beacons, small citadels with the one Spire. Town Beacons had usually two. Citadels had four, except this main one, which had eight.

Another striking thing were the windows. Randpol religion didn't allow statues, fearing the belief that they would be worshipped as false idols. Statues of the three Power were not allowed either, as it was seen as heresy to try and fit the majesty of these Powers into a statue. But paintings and stained glass windows were seen as crude enough not give the depicted any power if worshipped, or that they did not try to fit the majesty in. So there were a lot of professional painters and stained window makers, but no legal sculptors in Randpol.

The biggest windows were at the far end of the dome. The doors to the Citadel faced the setting sun, so a weary night-time traveller could have the sun behind him as he came into the hall, seeing the shadow he casts. And then, after a night sleeping in the dome, he would wake up to the light of the rising sun, shinign through the windows depicting the Mother Bear protecting the Sun from the harsh Winter and the Father Wolf killing the Wild Beasts, their corpses becoming the stars, and their king becoming the moon.

At the top of the dome was a circular window. At midday, it would be stupid to look up at it, as the sun is shining directly through it. But it is a window depicting the Life Spirit creating the world. It is said to be the greatest sight no one ever sees.

In case anyone didn't get it, Randpol and Creul are now in an alliance. And the deal was sealed with a kiss. Sort of.

Ya know what's really tempting for me? It's that I can't stand all of those little countreis with like 2 or so army divisions. They should've been gone by now...

Sorry, double post

Yes, I have recieved your orders.

I'm writing up the update now, I'm just about finished with Political events. I'm still missing orders from Germanicus, and Omega, so if you can send them in soon.. you may still be included.

Sounds good!

..My computer crashed, the update was.. well.. deleted. Sorry for the time, but expect it either tonight, or tommorow.

I have been doing a lot of thinking, and, honestly, I have very little urge/motivation to continue this NES, for so many reasons. One of the biggest is that the scenario, was not thought out too well. To many mistakes we're made, and I sort of went into this without much preperation, but I'm sure that is obvious. Not too many people have really found this NES 'fun', and to be honest, it is not quite as I envisioned it. Not to the fault of you guys however. You have all been great, and thanks a lot for your support/patience, etc.

I have been really busy lately, and I just don't know if I can really give this NES the time it needs, or if my 'mod skills' are really up to the challenge, just yet. I hardly have enough time to participate in other NES's, let alone run one. The updates and such I have posted pale in comparison to other NES's. I know many of you may feel attached to your factions, and such, and I eventually plan on remaking this mod.. into something a bit more playable (maybe into the summer).

Sorry for wasting all of your time.. but, as you can tell, I just wasn't ready. Not yet at least.

As for the update, if you really want me to do one last update, let me know, otherwise, consider this, well dead. The concept, and idea was good, but, not well developed enough, in my opinion.

Again, I am really sorry. :(

Sorry to here it but maybe this could be a prototype for things to come you had alot of great Ideas,

I hope it wasn't my shoddy orders that threw you over the edge, they were kinda messy and unrefined.

Put me down for Yulida if you reopen it.

I always knew it was rushed, but i tried to give support.

Better luck next time.

This was a ok NES.. not bad for a first time. But as you now know, it taked a hell of a lot to run a NES!

Thanks guys. No Gorma, you were one of the reasons I kept going, you were pretty into this haha, and thanks for the support Abaddon. Maybe in the summer, I could retry somethings..

That's just too bad. For the record, I really was enjoying this NES; and it was very, very good for a first-time mod! Too bad we didn't get too much into the exploration bit; stupid, silly people and their greedy wars!

I would hope for one final Update, however, for some closure. I wanted to see how well my plans went!

I will be looking forward to your future NESes, Lizard. :)

I concur. You are like the New Iggy... All Hail the second Chosen One!

Seriously, check Iggy's first NES. It reverberated the whole community.

...

If you don't believe me, in three weeks tops you will have a whole bunch of alt-historical late medieval/early exploration NESes with simple rules.

You can count on me to start one!

EDIT: Semi joke, I am actually serious about by comment above. Believe that.

This.

Just because of ONE crash, doesn't mean you can give up on us! Don't let it falter on you. Heck, Italy was entessinaly destroyed in INES II, and I had thoughts of switching to New Zealand, but I stuck to my guns, and, well, nothing truly changed except for two missing PRE divisions...

I don't think I'm getting the message to you. So, I'll use a classic metaphor.

"When life gives you lemons, beat the living crap out of life because you wanted limes!"

Hahaha, I do appreciate all of your support, and thank you. The computer crash had little to do with it; though it did piss me off. No, I'm just afraid I don't have the time/skills, as of now to do this. Expect a revamped version of this in late spring, summer.

Just about to send orders the other day when I saw that the NES closed. It would have been an interesting turn.

Although, I was surprised that none of the minor states never approached Onsam for support against Craydonian aggression/threats of getting involved down there.
