I'm wondering how many people in North Korea realised that the border is a heavily mined area. It will be terrible if hundreds die trying to cross it.

The horror of trying to resist millions of people descending on the border whilst attempting to subdue the die-hard loyalists of Pyongyang has to be a terrible nightmare at the back of every Korean President.

And yet, the alternative of federalism seems to terrify them even more.

Obviously it will, but let's hope it's while there' still hope.
