the Leaning Tower from Pisa.

I visit the tower some years ago, and there is really a flagstaff on the roof. I've seen a pic with a local flag (red ground with a decal) and one with the Italian flag. I decided to take the Italian flag, cause the local flag would just be red in the game.

Anyway, I would say it looks great but I can barely see anything on that tiny screeny, so I'll say it looks good.

I'll make bigger screenies next time

Given the fact that ANYONE can build a wonder it seems silly to have a natonal flag on it, I would recomend removing the flag.

Slow down man I just integrated Big Ben in my New Wonders mod, at this rate I will never release it! Anyone have an Idea for an Effect, I'm thinking something related to Culture?

THe Tower doesnt "scream" as an example of anything special as far as "culture" goes. It is what it is...a sight where tourists spend $$$

Only american turists spend dollars on it. In fact, it doesn't cost anything to see it if not for the trip to get there. You can also see it from a picture but being there has a different feel

I think the green-white-red of the Italian tricolor fits perfect to the white marble of the tower.

onedreamer: your confusing Galilao with Newton AND repeating a popular but false story in which he drops two identicaly shaped balls one of metal and one of wood to demostrate that all objects accelerate equily regardless of weight, an experiment he conduncted but not at the tower.

The leaning Tower is the Bell tower of a large and impressive Cathedral and is esentialy a religionsly oriented building so Religion effects might also work, I'm still strongly leaning towards a culture effect but possibly with a Religion tie-in. Aussie Lurker is working on some code that give StateReligion based Commerce Modifiers. I might borrow that to do a "+25-50% Culture in Cities with the State Religion"

Also looking at the buildings skin I think you need more dark archways to the interior and stronger visual sense of the floors of the building.

I find it curious how people today are so prone to discredit popular beliefs of the past, yet they believe each and every lie told by mass medias and politicians.
Even if the leaning tower of Pisa has something to do with religion I don't think its bonus should be religiously tied. All sort of people appreciate this building indipendently from their religious credo, so if you're going to give it a cultural bonus I don't agree that it should be tied to religion. Take the first 5 wonders in the game, they're all religious buildings and none of their boni is tied to religion. Besides I also don't agree that it should give a nation-wide cultural bonus but rather a local bonus like all wonders do.
Maybe I would make it give a free technology and remove it from the discovery of Liberalism.

It could also support merchants. They sell carts, t-shirts, cups, and other things with pics of the tower.

What about different effects in different ages?

It was a ren age building and symbolized the strengh and pride of Pisa. In our days it pulls tourists (and their money) to Pisa. Any ideas?
