What exactly is "parochialism"? I looked that up and it said: a limitation of views or interests like that defined by a local parish. I dont understand that really.

Question: My mom just told me that my grandfather died with a silly look on his face because of something called "riger moortis." And they had to break his jaw to make him look not silly in the coffin. What exactly is that?

Rigor mortis is when blood clots after death and you stiffen up. It's why a slang term for a dead person is "a stiff".

EDIT: Looks like I was wrong about it being caused by blood clotting.

In theory yes, but they don't always.

It's not that hard for teenagers to get alcohol even if it's technically illegal.

It's because you're not going to a reputable or classy dealer. A good dealer checks id and provides receipts and has a refund policy.

I only go to dealers registered with the local chamber of commerce and the BBB

I found an odd phrase in a book. "Cynical optimist." Isnt that technically an oxymoron? Because
