There's a confirmation button before the ban is ok'ed...
..but you could accidentally hit the enter key when it comes up.
....or, you might have you cursor set to automaticly move to the default button when dialouges pop up.
...or you could be just a little insane... :crazyeye:

...or a lot.:sheep:

But you would also have had to accidentally have hit the ban button in the first place so it isn't very likely that both events will occur together...

I have heard tales of MUI*

An analogy:

Your pants are too big. So wear a belt. 1 in 100 belts doesn't work properly and still allow the pants to fall down. You are worried about this, so you wear braces as well. Braces are known to come undone; this can happen in 1 in 100 cases. There is therefore a 1 in 10,000 chance that your pants will fall down.

How many members do we have?

Actually this has happened to me,

twice

In this case perhaps the belt and the braces are not entirely separate events? Which also applies to the banning situation thinking about what Lefty said about MUI...

Get new fitting pants ;)

Ohh, the all exclusive "Ban" button, I have been wondering about that. I am surprised that Mods don't have a special "Mod-only" Style, you know, something really funky and evil. That would be cool . . .

Now that you have posted a screenie about the "Ban" button, how about one of the Internal Mod Forum? Plllleeeaaasseeee? *grovels, to no avail*

Another thing, if you have gotten Banned, do you get some kinda noticification, a PM, E-mail, something? 'Cause if you were Banned, and didn't realize it, then tried to Log in, and couldn't, and started getting violent . . . things could get nasty . . .

yeah, whenever i accidentally try to post in a closed thread and the message pops up, i always think it's cos i've been banned again :(

i'm always gonna try to post before i check PMs.

How do you disable PMs?

User CP (Profile, whatever) -> Options -> "Enable PMs" click "No"

Pretty easy, but I wouldn't reccomend it.

There shouldn't be a need to turn off PMs as you can probably block PMs from people on your ignore list and if someone is spamming you or being abusive then just report it to mods...

Well, you wouldn't know about it if they had one, would you?

You said it was to be mod- only. :p
