The Media - Biased

Errrr....hizballah is claiming 50 loss, not the UN.

You heard about it, do you know if it true? No, you don't, and if it is, well, did you the video of the Israeli commando raid in baalbek? Guess what they found in the hospital?
How could the majority think they are safe when Israel is constantly telling them to get the **** out of southern lebanon, or they might get hurt.

Actually it was the UNRC, I'll try and find the figures, maybe they are in the sway of Hezbollah?

Anyway you do know that the UN doesn't see Israel's dropping of flyers as a mitigation of their bombing runs that cause civillian death? There are some that simply can't move out of the area because they can't use cars or they will be bombed, or in some cases they are so elderly they cannot be moved quickly. Plus of course bombing all the roads and bridges out leaves them no easy avenue of escape.

Hizballah has les deaths then Israel, thats unthinkable.

Of course it doesn't, but then again the UN is historicaly anti-Israeli.

We could get into that colossal mistake but that'd be a giant thread, suffice to say it was the biggest mistake of the post war era, and alot of people really did try and present a one state deal, but there was alot of politics that prevented this. Anyway it's OT. Open up a thread, you might learn something about Trumans scant regard for the one state solution for example.:) Anyway the Israeli deaths are less BTW Nivi according to their figures.

And what did it do, the next minute when 5 arab armies attacked us?

Some Zionists were very much in favour of it, was it a well reasoned favour? Considering they new it would result in immediate conflict? you might be surprised to find that many Israelis and zionists for that matter were against it.

Of course we in favour of it, but the creation of Israel would have been done with or without the UN's "help".

Excuse me? Are you trying to teach me about my country's history?

I edited that by the way should of been some not all, my mistake.

Anyway, that in itself is a matter of opinion and also the subject of a new thread, could the Zionists have forced a state of Israel alone, I somehow doubt it, but feel free to put it up :)

No why would I try that? ;) All I'm saying is that to present your case you need to prove it and it's not in the remit of this thread. Nivi your history might not be as impartial as you might think, and it might not of weighed up the real confusion about the issue that lead to the partition plan, it's a complicated issue, that is not revealed by one countries views, or historical perspective. Rewriting history is the preserve of the biased. :p

 nice sarcasm, but that's not what I said, Truman himself got completely fed up with the Jewish lobbyists so much that he refused to talk to them. Anyway again this is beyond the remit of this thread. Truman had no power to decide the partition plan, the US were deliberately kept out of the deal, it didn't stop the Zionists from pressuring him though, and he eventually came down against the formation, although there was little he could do, OK the US isn't to blame for everything the UN is  sorry. I gotta go work am, but it's been fun.
