One by one as other nations begin to embargo the Xinjiang regime. On the same coin, the Xinjiang regime turns around and declares war on the party who initiated the embargo. Hanna, troubled by the recent saber rattlings from Xinjiang and the threats against the Republic's two neighbors as prompted the Chancellor to take action. Minutes later, Hanna received word that the Xinjiangs declared war on India, after they made their embargo official. "The Xinjiangs know nothing but blood and violence, it's the only language they know" Hanna stated to her table of Cabinet members "The Xinjiangs, who are landlocked foolishly declared war against a Pacific naval power and now foolishly declared war against another power that's far beyond their grasp".

The Xinjiangs started to go on a war declaration spree that has not been seen since the days of World War One, but with one power placing a gamble to be bandwagon against. Hanna, furious at how the Xinjiangs are acting like a child, decided to make a powerful statement to the Xinjiangs "The Xinjiang Regime is backing itself into a corner by declaring war against nations who embargo it. Clearly, the language of the Xinjiangs are only composed of bloodshed and violence and hold no sense of self-preservation. Willing to even put down their own citizens in cold blood. At this rate, the Xinjiangs will find themselves in a bandwagon with other nations besides the Hawaiians. Your declaration of war against other nations only shows that you don't care and rather apply the same tactics you used against your own protesters and rioters to other nations who criticizes your regime". Hanna continues on with her statement "The Republic would remain to be neutral in the Hawaii-Xinjiang War. But we will be keeping an eye on the latest developments".

Yes. It is our fault. We know nothing but war. thats why instead of making other nations our puppet states, we respect their independence. Thats why instead of armies we use 2/3 of our money in industry. Thats why we work the land. Also Hawaii, while we at first went to the UN to ask for a peaceful solution, started to threaten us. But of course, it is our own fault. Hawaii demand us to do its policy and demands us to change our internal policy, but we are the crazy ones. We pout down violent protest, which could have resulted in thousand deaths, but we are murderess. So Hawaii demand us to make changes in our internal policy, threatens us, dont sits down to make a peaceful solution and we are the barbarians, right? But of course, the winners and the strongest write history.

Xinjiang has murdered its own people in cold blood, and then declared a war in response to a peaceful dispute, in spite of our decision not to place an embargo upon them. Hawai’i is shocked and appalled by this unprovoked assault.”

“Damn straight,” Jeanmarie Hedeen growled. The other flag officers of the Second Fleet nodded and gestured their agreement. The Second Fleet was on the western frontier, after all – closer than any other Hawai’ian element to the Xinjiangi regime.

We haven’t had a lot of contact, per se, but more than anyone else. Iwo Jima is a fair ways away from Xinjiang, and they’re landlocked, but we see their trading planes buzz by, and their helicopters occasionally visit.

In fact, a Xinjiangi helicopter had been landed at Iwo Jima, offering samples of trade goods, when the war had been declared, but Jeanmarie didn’t know much about what had happened to it – beyond that it was confiscated and the crew imprisoned.

“I fear for the Hawai’ian minorities in Xinjiang,” Commander Dylan Caffie of the cruiser HMS Honolulu murmured. “There aren’t many of them, but I’m sure that Mr. Christos Xinjiang will begin reprisals against them for the war he has declared. His regime is a totalitarian dictatorship – we’ve already seen that much.”

“I’m disappointed there was no effort for negotiation – from either side,” Lieutenant Commander Jasper Kofahl of the submarine HMS Lydia Liliuokalani. He leaned back in his chair. “I won’t deny Mr. Christos Xinjiang is a despot, but we didn’t exactly negotiate with his regime either. This war is unnecessary.”

“True,” Commodore Elton Eliassen acknowledged. “But, in the end, we have to serve the interests of the King.”

“I know,” Kofahl nodded. “And I will, to the best of my ability.”

“And that’s all that matters,” Caffie agreed wryly.

The captains of the task force were aboard the Ni’ihau for a briefing on the developing state of the war. They were, however, listening to the King’s speech to Parliament before beginning, drinking hot chocolate and coffee. The rolls and pastries had been thoroughly enjoyed already, and the cooks were making another batch.

“And furthermore, I declare that all trade between the nation of Xinjiang and any other global nation is fair game for Hawai’ian forces,” King Gregory rumbled. “Any trade plane, ship, or vehicle bearing the insignia of Xianjiang is a fair, lawful target by the rule of war.”

“Wonderful,” Caffie sighed. “Now, we’re privateers.”

“Shush,” Eliassen ordered.

“Thus, I declare to Parliament that an alliance of every particular does now exist between the Kingdom of Hawai’i, the 501st Legion, and the Sovereign State of India.”

“That’s just brilliant, isn’t it?” Kofahl shook his head. “Global war, here we come.”

“Oh, stop overreacting,” Jeanmarie warned. “It’s not as bad as all that. Allies are a major boon to us – in many ways!”

“But I must declare, in the strongest possible terms, that this is not a war about imperialism or territorial gain. This is a war in self-defense, and in defense of the people of Xinjiang. To that end, I promise Hawai’i will take not a single acre of Xinjiangi land upon our victory. Not a single Hawai’ian soldier will set foot in Xinjiang, even! This war will be decided with not a single Hawai’ian bullet fired in anger.”

“That should be fun to watch,” Eliassen murmured.

“I would have trusted King Albert to pull this off,” Commander Chery Bohol of the HMS Holoikauaua confided. “But Gregory’s new . . . untested. Sure, he took Pihemanu from the Midwaylanders, but I’m not sure he can pull off what he’s just announced. It’ll be dicey.”

“He’ll do it,” Jeanmarie said confidently. “I was there at Pihemanu. That man is smart. I don’t know how he’s going to pull this off, but he will.”
