Hanna Antilles left New Port City to fetch Grand Moff Jiaan Terjerrod, who arriving into the newly restored Bradley International Airport. Hanna and a few of her staff rode the rails from New Port City Station all the way to Bradley Station. From there she embarked to where she awaited for Grand Moff Jiaan Terjerrod to arrive. Hanna notices a Lambda-class shuttle flying in, she began to remark about the ship "I have not seen those things, in years!". The shuttle landed on the helipad in front of Hanna. Flanked by two Republic Rangers on each side, Hanna waited nervously for the shuttle to open. Then Grand Moff Jiaan Terjerrod walked off the shuttle and walked towards Hanna "Greeting Chancellor Antilles, It's good we've finally meet" Hanna responded "Likewise" as the group proceeded to head to Bradley Station to head to New Port City and boarded the train that brought Hanna. Hanna, her Cabinet, and Grand Moff Jiaan Terjerrod took their seats in the private observation car. "I never thought the decedents of your people would still be using these wheeled trains" Jiaan said as he looks at the electrified line passing by behind him. "I've found that railroads have been beneficial and efficient in the long run. Moving people and freight in long distances." Hanna said as she gestures at the model of an AEM-7 locomotive.
Hanna then opens up with a question in regards to the Xinjiangs. Jiann responds "Oh thoes guys who declared war on us just for embargoing us? I'd hope the Hawaiians give them what's coming". Hanna adds in her two cents "The Xinjiangs only know bloodshed and violence, it's the only thing they cared about" Hanna leans back in her chair "Kind of takes me back when we had to deal with the Barbarians when we first settled here years ago and the Barbanians and the Nazis a decade later". Jiaan then asks Hanna "Barbarians? You don't mean, your settlement was attacked?". Hanna then stated "I blame my colleagues for insisting on burying the
Mayflower with it's advanced weapons in Bluff Point and insisting we start off in the Roman Epoch" Hanna continues "We were fortunate to just fend them off. Years passed and we slowly gained up to World War I tech, then World War II. It was not until after we excavated the
Mayflower after the War of "96" that we took to the stars". Jiaan then said "Fascinating", Hanna then proceeded to ask the Grand Moff, in a cautious voice "Do you have love for the Empire? It's quite strange to see the 501 stranded here on this planet". Jiaan quickly gathers himself "No, many of my men have shown no love to the Empire nor to the degenerate copy that Mariko claims".
The train finally arrives into New Port Station. The group began to gather themselves as the left the train onto the platforms before reaching the streets of New Port City.
Hanna shows the Grand Moff the city that she helped to build, New Port City. Signs every wear bear words in both English and Japanese characters. "Is that, Huttese?" Jiaan asks as he points to the sign, Hanna quickly answers "No, that's Japanese. Translated it says 'Pfizer Pharmaceuticals'" Hanna continues "English, or Galactic Basic as you call it, is our lingua franca. The rest of the citizens of the Republic speak not just in English, but also in Japanese and German. Largely a result of not just local people, but people of Japanese and German decent in Vault 44 seeking shelter from the Cataclysm". Hanna then looks to the top of one of the skyscrapers in New Port City "Many people would say that New Port City is the Tokyo of the West". Jiaan, while observing the hovercars flying above him then to the parked Corvega next to him said "To me, it's like little Coruscant on Earth". Hanna then elaborates about the city "I've mainly taken inspiration from Tokyo, Osaka, and New York City to base my home town that I've help built". The group then hopped into Hanna's limo, Jiaan then asks "Where are we going this time?". Hanna replied "To Fort Norwich".
Hanna and Jiaan arrived to Ft. Norwich about twenty minutes later. They were greated by a formation of Republic Soldiers undergoing their drills with the traditional M16 rifle and the newly developed AER9 laser rifle and the Winchester P94 plasma rifle. The Republic Rangers were in formation with their ceremonial M14 rifles also marched into formation. "So, your soldiers don't wear any kind of armor besides helmets" Jiaan asks, Hanna simply responds "They wear a Kevlar vest underneath. But what you are seeing is our regular infantry and elite units". The soldiers took to their possition as the Heavy Infantry marches out with their Colt L40 Gatling lasers. The Heavy Infantry solders were clad in T45d power armor painted in forest camo with the flag of the Republic on their right breastplate and the Republic roundel on the shoulder pauldrons. The Republic Heavy Infantry soldiers took their aim at the plastic test dummies and fired their Gatling lasers. In amazement, Jiaan said "I've never seen a laser weapon fire that fast".
The group then jumped aboard the jeep and traveled to the tank proving grounds just on the northern perimeter of Ft. Norwich. A minute later, a display of tanks rolled across the audience. A group of Leopard tanks rolled passed each other in a choreographed display. Then, a restored Panzer 4 tank took the lead and gathered the Leopard tanks in one V formation just before a squadron of helicopters flew past the tanks. The display was concluded with a squadron of A-wings and F-22s, escorting a B-52 bomber flying over the proving grounds of Ft. Norwich. Jiaan, wondering where the walkers are asks Hanna why the use of tanks, Hanna then answers his question "The AT-AT and AT-ST walkers have shown themselves a nuance in urbanized areas with the proliferation of high tension power lines. A walker is prone to trip over a power line causing the walker to fall over as well as break the power lines causing massive power outages. We went with tanks and wheeled armored vehicles since they're not prone to the issues walkers and repulsorlifts have. Plus they are street legal".
The afternoon started to turn to dusk and Hanna personally brought Jiaan back to Bradley International Airport to his shuttle. Hanna said to the Grand Moff "I hope what you have saw today would give insights that the Republic has grown up. I do hope and look forward to a stronger relationship between our two nations. Perhaps an alliance once the relationship warms up". Jiaan nods at the Chancellor "We'll let you know and we too hope to foster a stronger relationship between our two nations". Then Jiaan boarded his shuttle and traveled back to LA.
Tifa Lockhart, Coruscanti UN Representative was only expecting to have an ordinary day with just facing the protest against Italy's excessive tolls in the waterways, the Xinjiang-Hawai'i War, and the Angola-Nigirian Crisis. Tifa was not expecting to be elected to be the Secretary of the UN. "This is, quite unexpected. I, I don't know what to say" Tifa said as she relayed the news to Chancellor Hanna. Hanna reasured Tifa "There's nothing to worry, I was in your position when I was made Chancellor of the Republic". Tifa made it up to the desk of the Secretary and began to go through the paper and dockets of the issues at hand for the UN.
The
Rorikstead has been undergoing preparations for Chancellor Hanna to visit the main island of Hawai'i. The
Ragnarok-Class Super Battleship was chosen largely due to it's firepower, with seven turrets with quad-Gauss cannons, to protect the Chancellor against any foreign aggression. "With the Xinjiangs declaring war left and right, it was only fitting to ride the
Rorikstead to meet with the leaders in Hawai'i without getting harassed by the Xinjiangs" Hanna said to the Grand Admiral "It's likely going to be the same policy if I ever have to cross hostile waters and the Republic is neutral in any conflict. I don't wish to see the
Lusitania scenario happening to me". Hanna has started to make arrangements to meet with the leaders in Hawai'i.
