The NES Wiki - Get Wiki With It

Also, can we make specific pages for NESes, or are we leaving that for later. Because IMHO the dinky page for Famous NESes is atrocious. My plan was to create long, detailed pages for each NES, like a wiki with a history section, a story index, and other stuff, maybe a behind the scenes section. I'm going to create pages, and add to them, but if i'm stepping out of line here just tell me and i'll delete the pages

If anyone who will have played with me over a number of NESes could put one of those labels on me over any of the others, I will have miserably failed. I think the types are certainly worth explanations, but I don't see the point in trying to categorize individual players, at least not all.

@Swiss: I think that's really one of the main strengths of the Wiki, to be able to put up pages for the individual NESes like you propose. We should be aware it's a very time-consuming process, but if we could do it, the gains would be awesome.

In the extreme, IMO, we could even move whole NESes from the forum to the wiki, retaining the forum threads for the communication and stories but using the wiki for all more or less static things like stats, maps, descriptions of religions and nations, etc. Now that would be awesome, and probably even less time-consuming for a mod than the current fashion. :)

I can contribute much to a NES2 VI page. Just set it up, and I will start a-writing.

Will do that soon, I'm going to do my page first. BTW, how does one make on of those cool table things.....

That's fine, I guess, but it would be good if the NES directory was finished and posted first, so the pages could be grounded somewhere...

BTW, I finished my nations section on my user page. I'm quite proud of it. Feel free to comment on the talk page.

Looks good but how did you do that table thing to the right with nationality, date of birth, etc etc

Just copy&paste the 'edit form.

NVM, i got it, thx Tossi

According to Lord Iggy, Lord Iggy Generation 6.

And Mine is cool now. But not done.

Hmm, somebody needs to define these generation things, I'm a tad confused myself.

Oh well, I'll continue on in my own little obscure way...

Generations page up, but needs adding too.

Ugh, I tried editing the generations page, but it seems like there's one too many generations. Someone else needs to fix things up.

But I at least sorted them by date (if there was any data in the wiki).

EDIT: Ah, nm, someone edited while I was doing it, and screwed mine all up.

The earlier ones need classifying.

First Generation is okay, I guess, but it needs a cutoff date between it and Second Generation.

Same goes for Third/Fourth.

Fifth Generation is fine, but I made the cutoff date July 2005 since that's right about the middle of the year. (it just said summer...what was I supposed to do? It's the middle of summer :P)

I added the date Civ4 was released to the Sixth and Seventh generations.

And...yeah. I also alphabetized the lists and such. Yay for minor editor! I own! :D

I disagree. Since no one is shown in the 5th (though we're missing a bunch, which may change my stance) it might as well be the next generation.

If someone will set date cutoffs for generations 1-4, I'll look through the list of NESers and categorize them all...
