Well, after a rage induced confession I made to Lec thanks to a certain AC, I have some news I have for TNA.
This AC is officially dead: I have no intentions of ever resuming this AC anymore. The main purpose for it is over.
And it was a success
TNA was firstly a thought experiment designed by chiefly me with some support of LH, and an actual AC second. What was the thought experiment, you may ask? This AC, the entire AC, had no stats. No dice. No Rolls. Everything I did, from the first action to the last, was all completely 100% mod fiat. I'd decide what succeeded and what failed, not over pure chance, but what I thought would work best with the story and characterization. The stats? Utterly meaningless (Except for HP). I didn't even look at them during a mission. If you took a feat that gave you bonus stats, I'm afraid to inform you that you wasted a feat over nothing. Enemies? Had no stats nor HP. I just decided when they would be knocked out, based on what the plot demanded.
The execution was a little lacking, I'll admit. Dem could easily see through my charade, so I had to add him to our carde before the AC started. However, I thank him for actually keeping the secret, well, secret. I'm honestly suprised, with how crap-tier my stats were, how no one else was able to actually discover that the stats were utterly meaningless.
I also, while liking the setting and general plot, thought that I could had done the plot better. For the confessed obbessor over RP, my AC inadvertently became more of a slugfest with every mission. I blame this solely on myself; I never really gave the players the RP opportunities mods like LH or Dem would, so stories never really got anywhere. I also had the misfortune of placing too much of the early story based on a backstory of two characters who stopped showing up to missions, leaving it kind of useless.
I also would be lying if I said certain players didn't really make this game fun for me to mod, either. That, to be honest, was the main reason I put this on hiatus (Not that the things I said above weren't true, however). Not naming anyone; I think that's just the epitome of rudeness. However, other players were pretty awesome, and for them I thank you all for probably the best AC I ever run.
I do not have any regrets hosting TNA, and although I have no intentions of ever looking at this world again, I know the model works. You don't need a d20 or a bunch of stats to tell a good, collective story. You just need a tale to tell. If I ever run another AC, I'll be more upfront with the complete lack of stats that future Omega ACs will have. If.
