CIA was so famous for espionage!

The day a C-120 outmaneuvers a Mig-29, I will personally crap my britches, and then eat them, contents and all. If your government expects anyone to swallow that story, they are living in a fool's paradise.

A C-120 is about 50 meters long, and has a top speed of about 500-600 kph. A Mig-29 has a length of about 15 meters at most, and a maximum speed well in excess of the speed of sound. Do you honestly want the world to think that no one in China can do simple math?

The Mig series of jets are world-reknowned for their excellent maneuverability, and the PRC gov't wants the world to believe that a cargo plane stuffed full of radios can outfly it? I don't think so, and no one credible does either.

And yes, the James Bond movies certqainly make the CIA look like Spy Central, don't they?

And BTW- the CIA funded the Taliban, under the impression that they would be better than the Soviets. Who knew? Osama was trrying to stage a coup, and the CIA blew him in to the Saudi King, who banished him, hence his hatred of the US. His use of Islamic extremists is just another of his rapes of a special interest group that shares his aims.

Interesting thread. I find it interesting that Fayedi hasn't responded. Also interesting that the comparisons on airpower leave out the stealth planes. Maybe stealth is unfair so it doesn't count.

As far as the next superpower: North America and Europe, maybe with, maybe without Russia. Most of the world likes the status quo too much to work to unseat the U.S. as the leader in world affairs.

China will grow in power and it will be interesting to see what population pressures do in that part of Asia. South is full and has the Indians. North is empty...

Chinese pilots do a manuever were they'll get right up on the ass of a plane and i do mean right up on the ass, you could tell if the chinese pilot brushes his teeth regularly.
And yes no way in hell its our guys fault, We're in an AWACS and the chinese pilot was in a MIG-29.
I do believe the crew video taped how close the pilots were.
And then your countries going to take apart our aircraft?
What kinda of stealing is that!?
Hah!

Wow!

Fearless, you'll never guess what I saw!

A C-120 just out-ran and out-turned a whole wing of Mig 29s!

(Of course I was at the controls!)

Better get started on those britches!

Though my two favorite jet fighters are the F-22 Raptor, and the MiG-29! The F22 has absolutley awesome destruction capabilities! It has a very small weapon diversity, but that could be good. One I know of is the AMRAAM missle and also the gatling gun(of course). The MiG 29 is also VERY cool, awesome close range agility for it's time.

Uh, Curt, gonna need some wing-camera footage for verification.

China will be the US's major antagonist until the government there is overthrown and then we'll see.....imho......

The government will, eventually, be overthrown. Many parallells with the USSR exist. Back and forth between conservatives that want to clamp down, and liberals that want to free things up. Overall, though, there is an obvious trend toward liberalization which, I believe, will/have whet the Chines peoples' taste for freedom. My personal prediction is that, at some point in the not too distant future, there will be an attempt by hard-line conservatives to clamp down, and this will be the beginning of the end. Easy to predict what's already happened elsewhere, but it sounds all to feasible to me.

The Chinese almost beat the Russians to the punch with Tienanmen Square.

BTW, has this already been forgotten in China?

One question, Fayadi. How does it make you feel that your government does not trust you enough to allow you to hear the truth? Any government that regulates the media, thus not trusting it's peoples' reaction to the truth about their government, will never have the loyalty of their people the way America's citizens are loyal to their country.

In a previous post, Fayadi said that he supported the mass murder at Tienanmen Square.

EDIT

By the way, how come China is so great with their technology?

The last I heard from China was that...

YOU WERE STEALING OURS!

Thank Sid we are in the off topic area.

Stealing, why would the Chinese need to steal it? Billy boy sold it to them.

Note that I don't blame Democrats, Liberals, or anyone else for that matter, just Bill.

The next Superpower will be the Super Federal Europe state as I think that China is on already, the S.F.E.S will be peacefully and will be a superpower through trade and NATO!

Sure, i know, slightly different circumstances, but do you blame just duh-bya for giving $$ to the taliban 6 months ago? And not all republicans and conservatives?

What about his dad and Osama himself?

Personally, I didn't like Billy chumming it up with the Chinese anymore than I do duy-bya doing it. They are abusive toward their people, restrict their rights as humans, and I don't think we should have any business dealings with them at all.

I'd rather pay a little more for something that I know was made here, or anywhere really, by people that aren't a step above slaves, by people that are treated and paid fairly.

Do you honestly think that all the products you purchase are not made by those who live in conditions as a "step above slaves"? Take a look at your next cup of coffee or your pair of shoes and try to retrace the product from your possession to all the way back to its roots.

Obviously in hindsight giving the Taliban anything was a bad move, but I do think that there is a difference in that China is an up and coming super power and rival culture. Sharing technical secrets with them can be a lot more dangerous than giving some money to the Taliban. History is a continuos cycle of the rise and fall of nations. For some reason people in America seem to think that the cylcle is over. There is absolutely no inidication that this is the case. The only question is whether America will fall from its preeminent position in the next 100 years or the next 1,000. That and who will take its place. Will it be the Chinese, the Europeans, or the United Luner Confederation?

The only countries that would join a Super European state would be France and Germany and maybe a couple of smaller countries in Europe. I dont think that it would become a super power with that few countries

Also, China would never be allowed to become a super power with its current human rights record

Respectfully Acid, one does not let nations become super powers. China will or will not be a superpower based upon its economic, military, and technical prowess. Soviet Russia and Nazi Germany were both Superpowers that had attrocious human rights records.

Fayedi:

It was not a "spy plane" that the Chinese fighter plane crashed into. It was plane flying in international airspace collecting intelligence. The term "spy plane" implies that the plane was there covertly, which is simply not the case. The Chinese knew it was there and what it was doing.. thats why it sent out fighters to intercept it and taunt it.. just like the good ol' days of the cold war. The problem is that one of the Chinese piolots in his zeaoulsness.. got a little too close and collided with our aircraft over international waters.. NOT in Chinese air space...

Let me use a comparison to explain the difference between spying and collecting. If your neighbors are talking loud.. and you walk up to their fence and listen to their conversation... that is collection.. not spying.. and there is not a damnthing your neighbors can do about it except maybe.. stop talking so loudly.. now, if instead, you sneak into their house and hide behind their couch to listen to their conversation, that is spying.. and that is illegal and you'd be "wrong" if you got caught.

Again.. ourt aircraft was in international airspace when the Chinese fighter collided with it.

Oh, and the reason why China does not do these types of activities against the US, because it does not have the technology nor the modern ocean going navy or long range air force to conduct these types of missions on the other side of the world.
