The People's Delegation

Our Doctrine

As this nation, and this game, are a democracy, the people's delegation has made it their/his goal to gurantee that the actions of the government are the true will of the people, and to ensure that the government does not fall into the hands of isolated, autocratic oligarchs. The people's delegation also commits itself to the wellbeing of its citizens, and their hapiness, which should be the first priority of the state. Our statesmen are not to act on their own, for their own benefit, but are to act for the people, even if it conflicts with their own opinions. A delegation member should, whenever faced with a difficult decision, turn to the people and find out their opinion via a poll. Though a delegation member may have been elected to make the decisions, he/she should turn to the people whenever possible. The delegation is commited to ensuring that this is a democracy game, and to making sure that it caters to those who are merely citizens, rather than those who are veteran ministers.

Our Goals

1. To make the common citizens of Japanatica as happy as possible.
2. To guard against oppression of the citizens of Japanatica.
3. To make the citizens of Japanatica the happiest in the world.
4. To ensure that the will of the people is always upheld.
5. To ensure that the citizens of the demogame retain their power and are not overshadowed by politicians.
6. To ensure that the demogame remains as democratic as possible.
7. To ensure that every citizen has an equal chance of gaining a place in the government, no matter how new they may be.

In other words, the People's Delegation is commited to make the common man as happy as possible in the game. In the forum, its for making sure that all important decisions are done by poll, rather than by some executive, and to try and get new people into the game rather than the small number of incumbants.

Members

Any citizen may be a member of the delegation; they may be warmongerers or pacifists, capitalist or communist, so long as they agree with the doctrine. All citizens will be supported in their run for office on the assumption that once in office they will serve the people, not their own interests. Entering and leaving can be done freely, and at this time there is no real organizational structure.

The People's Delegation have beautifull goals, somewhat populistic but i'm in (if i can)

I will join this noble cause, and if elected President I plan to follow its principles.

When I first joined the Demogame community in DG3, some of the established leaders of the time took special care to encourage new people to run for office, and enthusastically supported me when I self-nominated for Science Advisor. I have taken every opportunity since then to push for a leadership which has a mixture of old-timers and new faces. :D

I would like to join this citizens group.

Welcome to all new members. This is obviously a lot like PEEDS, except that PEEDS focuses on more than this and is RP. This, on the other hand, is simply to make sure that the people are always represented in the forum, and are happy in the game.
