The preview thread

Anglo-Saxon set is truly missed, Kyr. ;) I didn't post in other thread, but what can I say - ditto. Head? :) (Ares would understand my divine intervention :mischief:)

Well, i will finish the japanese set and then decide if i will return to the older style (the new series i mean)

Still wondering if no one likes these. Personally i consider them an improvement over the new series.

well i like them. you cannot jump over the many steps one needs to be an acomplished and accurate historical graphic designer. make what you want and bring back older styles if you like, but one day u will return and that day we will see a brand new and mature and accurate historical style. i am sure of this.

I won't be returning to that style due to many problems with it, from technical perspective, and also due to the fact that i am used to making bigger buildings, which would be really wasted in that size.

Still, if my gfx helped even one person get away from drugs better his civ3 game, i am happy ;)

The Japanese set is now finished. Time to decide if i will continue this series, or return to the older one.

In my view this new style is considerably better than the older one. It has roads, plazas, 5 monuments instead of three, and four houses (in reality 7, but some are variations of other ones) instead of three. What is your view?

I am sorry to say, perhaps the old one is better...I think that it is hard to persuade myself to apply the new one and give up my recent usages...I am really happy to see more designs from you, Kyriakos. :p

I agree about the hard part, but there may be more than 30 sets in this style later on, so then the older style will be less populous ;)

Besides, now for the first time it is actually possible to make a decent native american and central american set :)

Time for a little planning.

I decided to have american culture too in this new series- i have to hand out some candy to lure people away from the older one...

So, first of all i want to complete five ancient sets. These will be:

Greek (done)
Japanese (done)
Persian or Egyptian (leaning towards Persian)
Native American (but which one for the ancient era?)
Germanic

Then for Medieval:

Byzantine
Japanese
Arabian
Mayan
French

And from then on we shall see.

Currently adapting the ancient Germanic set:

Can anyone post detailed pics of ancient skandinavian fortified hills? I am near to decide to have a different wall for every single set...
