The questions-not-worth-their-own-thread question thread IV

I think for Questions-Not-Worth-Their-Own-Thread Question Thread V, we should rename it to "Random Questions V".

What do y'all think about that? That way, we could have snappy title à la Random Rants and Random Raves. Furthermore it'd match up.

maybe "Random Questions V (f.k.a. Questions-Not-Worth-Their-Own-Thread)"

What ideology supported the revolutions 1848?

Socialism or liberalism? My history book and wikipedia has different answers.

I wrote an essay last year on the causes of the 1848 revolutions. Mostly the underlying ideologies were liberalism or nationalism.

Hmm... I read through the wikipedia page on it. And it says it was liberalism, nationalism socialism and democracy... Before i write that in my short essay I need to know if that is correct.

The 'Random' brand has a bad rep at the moment, though, because both of those threads have got rather spammy. Adding 'Random' to this one might encourage people to spam it, which would be a shame because there are some interesting questions in here, and the thread is still actively serving a purpose.

Personally I like the title as it is. Maybe remove the superfluous second 'question' in there, but otherwise, fine and dandy.

I didn't find the wikipedia page all that helpful for my essay. My three main points, or causes, were general unhappiness at the state of affairs, the tide of liberalism, and nationalism. I can post the essay in World History if you want.

what over the counter drugs would you recommend for a sinus infection? PLEASE HELP!!! ive had a crazt sinus infection for about 3 weeks and i want to shoot myself

I've never had one, but my friend always got them and she took Sudafed. Also, since sinus infections are normally bacterial, you should probably see a doctor in case you need to be proscribed antibiotics.

I think this might make me sound really young (I guess), but how was resolution measured in photographs in a time before pixels? Was "resolution" a concept that came with digital images, so it didn't exist before?

The term has been in use in photography since at least the early 60s.Once referring to the smallest resolution on film photography that could be achieved with reconnaissance cameras on planes and satellites. It's probably older than that, as TV dates to the late 30s. And film decades before that.

Probably the best way to tell was what size your negative was before it was processed like 35mm, 6x7, 6x6,etc.

Why do human babies/children suck while every other animal on earth has much better babies? Like kittens and puppies and bear cubs are incredibly cute and funny, and bear cubs can sick their mothers on things. Baby giraffes are born 6ft tall and can kick a lion in the jaw, horses are born running, but human babies are useless annoying little selfish gits.

Evolution.

Because humans have an easier life than a bear or a giraffe, so we don't need to be born with skills like they do. As for the cuteness factor, it's all a matter of personal opinion I suppose.

Hmm never thought about that. If only we could figure out how to give birth to fully developed babies. It'd be great, they could go straight into the workplace, thats ~ 18 years more work out of everyone.
