He's paying me about $10 an hour.
Nah, I upgraded to the special "Ark of the Covenant" deal, remember? Now it's free, but I have to keep my eyes closed or my head will explode.

What is this building style called?

It's the Tudor style.

You're one week off! :p

(yes, they are, but this year the Easter is one week later here :))
This was the cause of much amusement in my hometown, as every single fish and chip shop in town was owned by Orthodox families. They'd be open on the public holidays, and do a fairly brisk business in fish, then confuse everyone by being shut at what seemed to be the wrong days. Used to be greatly amusing to watch people pull up out the front, walk to the doors, try to open them several times, get confused, then leave.

Is today (Good Friday) a public holiday in other parts of the world? And same for Easter Monday?

My school isn't even giving me Easter Saturday off...

WTH? School on Saturday?

Easter Saturday isn't a PH here, just Friday and Monday, though lots of places act as if Sunday is. No, I don't know what's important about Monday, I suspect it's just an excuse to work less.

I think Monday's a PH because Sunday isn't. People think it's unfair to have a PH on a non-work day (think ANZAC Day), and so want it on Monday instead.

There's no day off work for ANZAC Day this year, and there shouldn't be, as it's on a weekend. Personally I don't think the day some guy half the population doesn't believe in allegedly rose from the dead should be a secular holiday anyway.

Yeah, that's my point. People complain when it's on a weekend. I still get a day off school for ANZAC day, though. The media made a big fuss about that a while back, but didn't mention the fact that there are the same number of school days in a year regardless, and that the calendar was finalised 5 years in advanced. But it's the media. I should expect as much.

As for the whole secular thing, I agree, and find it kind of sickening that everyone pretends to be all religious for a few days. I mean, yay if they actually are, but the charade isn't very pretty.

I usually eat fish on Good Friday, just because I like fish and there tends to be a lot of it around in the lead-up, but didn't today. Am I going to hell?

Also, can I play two-up on days other than ANZAC Day? It's a fun game.

For not eating fish?

. . . no.
