Spitting on the armed forces is probably legal too - why don't you try doing that? Because that's exactly what you are doing... ;)

Well in the UK if we tracked down all the evaded taxes it would be £120billion a year apparently. So we intend to cut benefits to the most needy and lay off loads of public sector workers instead.

Wow thats a ton of taxes that have not been collected. I don't know if its that high or higher here in the states but i do know we could save our government tons of money if we fix all the errors in the tax system here. I would also stop making all charitable contributions tax deductable. Or at least curb the amount that is deducted because its ridiculous how much a wealthy person can deduct if he tries.

Before knowledge of genetics and before the industrial revolution what were peoples views in the west about people born with weird deformities such as extra fingers or anything really? Were these people despised and thought to be spawn of Satan or what?

Dunno. I have 3 nipples though.

Go back far enough and you get all sorts of superstitions.

You get them in the modern day too.

For example: Unconditional massive tax cuts will stimulate the economy, reduce the deficit, and in no way rape us down the road.

:mischief:

Well politicians are more concerned with party rhetoric than actually doing something useful i'm afraid. Even if the party ideology wont work for a certain situation. Lets screw our country over!

I think people should vote for the person they think have the best ideas, not by a party. Am I the only one who thinks this?

Unfortunately where i live the republicans almost never have ideas or issues i would support and only half the time do democrats.

I dont feel our country is represented fairly enough with only two political parties..

Most voters don't have enough ideas of their own to recognize them in political candidates.

In Canada I think theres like 5 or 6 fairly large parties. I lost count. Quebec has some separation ones and I think theres some weird ones out west but I dont remember them. Where I live, the last election had a few minor parties who didnt win though and somebody who called themselves an "Independent." I think that means its not a party.

A lot of the American political commercials say stuff like "We'll cut your taxes! And make more jobs!" and its hard to tell who is who but a lot of them seem terribly boring. I still thought that sheep one was funny but I didnt understand what was going on in it.

Yeah, it's terribly shallow. But that seems to work.

That's exactly why i try to know the candidates past political history and what i think he would actually be able to do and try to do.

Political ads are pure garbage, don't trust anything the ad says because a politician does not have any obligation to fulfill his campaign pledge. Its purely to win the hearts of the stupid voters.

I'm assuming either when the person was an alcoholic or when they loved the booze.

The author was on something serious with a thesaurus next to him?
I dunno. Best translation:
Pipestem physique probably refers to being of good physique or trim, like the stem of a pipe.
Sea-Oats Hairline: Probably swept hairline. I'm guessing sea-oats literaly refers to sea waves.
Various hat and bandanna stratagems has something to do with either simple solutions or ingenious. I know it has something to do with the idealized Wild West and potentialy some outlaws.

I scored almost perfect on the ACT rhetorical and language skills and I'm having a hard time following this. You aren't alone Aimee.

I'd say pipestem physique means lanky, thin and probably awkward looking rather than trim and in shape. It would imply limbs of fairly uniform thickness rather than comely musculature.

Sea oats are a kind of grass that grows on sandy beaches. They are often of a tawny color very similar to Petty's dull blond hair. In many photos they seem to have a texture similar to that of coarse unkempt hair, especially hair that has been damaged by excessive styling and blow drying in the past. The hat and bandanna stratagems almost certainly refers to attempts to use headgear to hide hair that he believes is often too unmanageable for his stylist to make good good on its own.

The quote is describing his general awkward appearance by describing features that would be quite awkward in themselves on anyone else but on him are overshadowed by his prominent upper teeth.

(I never took the ACT, but my lowest SAT Verbal score was still considered a perfect 800.)

This should be patently untrue. Unfortunately, far too many people seem to believe this. :(

This book I bought less than three years ago. It fell apart and is held together by duct tape. Any suggestions? Images are shown to show the amount of duct tape needed to hold it together (the cover fell apart from the pages)
