They can not deliver because they ultimately face a simple truth: If you do not keep up with the world economy you face drastic lack of means.
One may call this giving in to capitalists. But the only alternative is martyrdom. Which you must impose on millions.
There are a number of socialist traditions which argue that electoral politics is a dead-end for the working class, if that's what you're getting at.
 
Dark-red: Left-wing populism and marxism
red: social democracy
yellow: conservative liberal and flemish nationalism (confederalism) (right-wing)
blue: conservative liberal (centre-right)
maroon: anti-EU, anti-Islam and pro-Flemish independence
orange: christian democratic (and in flandres also in favour of confederalism) (centre-right in flandres / centre or centre-left in wallonia)
green: green
dark blue: right-wing ,populism in wallonia
purple: francophones interests mainly in brussels
 
The Flemish Interest (or previously called Flemish Block) is one of the most succesive far-right parties in Europe and in Antwerp they are very popular, like here in 2000.
