African or European?

Hear he ! Hear he ! Now that ! IS the question ...The swallows and martins have an evolutionarily conservative body shape which is similar across the clade but is unlike that of other passerines. Swallows have adapted to hunting insects on the wing by developing a slender, streamlined body and long pointed wings, which allow great maneuverability and endurance, as well as frequent periods of gliding. Their body shape allows for very efficient flight, which costs 50–75% less for swallows than equivalent passerines of the same size. Swallows usually forage at around 30–40 km/h, although they are capable of reaching speeds of between 50–65 km/h when traveling. Than there's an African swallow, which can withstand and bare ! HA! A burden of a coconut !! Therefore I am obliged to say that only the African swallow would manage the feat ! haha Splendid ! But how on Earth an African swallow came by a cocnut ........... ?

I usually name my first combat unit to get 10 experience points "Brave Sir Robin" because he runs away to my capital until I can build Heroic Epic.

You don't have to have a living Level 4 unit (10 XP) to build the Heroic Epic. You just need a unit to have reached Level 4... even if it died the next turn. Ditto for Level 6/26xp and West Point.

Not to take away from the naming ritual at all :goodjob:

The question is Good Sir if You are "Charismatic" or not ? ... Is that really is affecting the outcome ? If so .... that would mean that "Charismatic" trait can profit ! (like Churchil or Boudica for example ;) )

Ah Yes...000

I do a "Brave Sir Robbin" under two circumstances:

1) "Brave Sir Robbin" is a W-3 warrior I want to save to become a "Super-Duper" medic (attach GG, get it to C-1, M-3, W-3).

2) I want to rotate out "Brave Sir Robbin" to give another unit a chance to fight barbs and get to 10 xp.

I don't think it was really silly, but combined with bad luck it ruined my game.

I was working on rapidly expanding as Inca and left a lone Quechua in my capital who had three "strength" promotions. A single barb warrior comes along and, to try to prevent him from pillaging my mine, I send my Quechua to attack him with something like a 96% win rate.

Barb warrior wins the battle and then my capital is completely undefended now. I don't have bronze working yet, so I can't whip a new unit and it's not possible to build one for 3 more turns (since I was building a settler and would have to switch production). In that span the warrior marches into my capital and razes it.

To me, that's the best argument for the RNG to be used in combat. You were given a choice and knowing the odds you had to make a decision. If you had been guaranteed a win, there would have been no choice.

on a giant map it's even worse.. Same for the Holy Mountain quest.

Why I let myself get suckered into those quests is beyond me.

How big is a giant map, and where do I get one?

Erm, giant? LOL. It will hold up to 50 civs. 2 best mods that I prefer that has them are VIP and History Rewritten. There's a few others as well. I also think there is a custom 50 Civ map in the maps thread.

Oh. I have 50 civ capability blended into BAT ( Lemon), but I only play 25 on regular huge. I think some of the map generators allow custom sizing though so I might try something bigger eventually.

Then I recommend Vincentz VIP mod. He's currently got a giant map challenge (max civs, bragging rights, etc) that I've been trying to complete for awhile now (MON diff for me). So far I'm 0 for 4 on it ( I don't count The Great Kitten Key Board Caper or The Significant Other's Amorous Attentions as attempts) in successfully trying to complete it. Current try is going well though, especially after taking appropriate external influence counter measures....Ermm, hopefully.

De nada. I also put a 50 civ DLL into Better BAT AI as well. It's waiting at SourceForge to ruin your weekend.

:woohoo:

Note that in honor of this very thread and all the people who have done silly things in the realm of forgetting to change civics Lady Lemon has added a BAT signal showing your civics on the main screen where they will (hopefully) serve as a reminder.

Just used the Great Artist from Music to trigger a Golden Age - 2 turns before completing MOM. :hammer2:

Yeah, it's not that uncommon for me to wait for a GA for a civic change and then forget to do it. Then not realizing until 50 turns later that I forgot to change and wondering why my Science rate isn't good.
