Feedback please:... I was watching Monty Python and the Holy Grail today; The scene in which Graham Chapman (King Arthur) takes on John Cleese (Some Knight) in swordplay. And i am 100% certain of the fact that two of the sound effects of swords striking in the battle are THE sound that Sid Mieir has used for early conflicts in Civ2. U know the kind of gnashing, grunting, steel-clashing sound when that pesky players horseman becomes victim to your mountaintop warrior. Perhaps the movie and Sid both lifted the sounds from a sound effects CD. It makes sense a guru like Sid would use such a cool movie as resource. Any verifications??

They do sound the same!
quick montey sue sid now!

The funny thing is that I had Monty Python and the Holy Grail on the TV in the background when I first read this post!

Well that only shows that Sid has got a real good sense of humor if he likes Monty Python!!!

Thx guys...I'm a big Monty Python fan too, though not many of my American frenz necessarily understand the humor. If Sid 'borrowed' I can only grow heavenward in my appreciation of all things CIV.

ahh so at least you know half of the truth now it is time to go and discover the other half...... of...... the..... truth yea thats right!

Just wanted to offer a quick WELCOME to Julie! And she obviously has good taste! Great content for a first post! Do we have anyone else representing S. Korea here?

BTW, you've been registered since Dec 2000 and only have 2 posts (both today)? What have you been doing all this time?

Anyway, back on topic, Sid had just better not steal the sound of my semi-nuclear atomizer for his next game! It's top secret. In fact, it's so secret you can't even hear it when you read about me using it!!

I don't know exactly, but I must comment on that scene... Funniest thing I've ever seen!
'What are you goin' to do, bleed on me?'

Sad and pathetic; But funnnnnnnny.

If Sid could have incorporated the line "It's just a flesh wound," from that fight scene or any of the lines from when King Arthur meets the Knights Who Say Nigh that would have been great. At least we now know Sid has a sense of humor. Maybe next he will incorporate sounds and lines from other movies.

"I love the smell of naplam in the morning," from Apocolypse Now, Scwartznagger's commando team laying waste to the enemy camp in Predator or any other good scenes or lines from some good movie's.
