The Spain Split

We should ask ChampiKhan whether we can use the Galician civ in the mod.

Why? It doesn't even exist yet. Didn't Khan have some kind of communist enlightenment and give up on galicia and all of his other civs in favour of failed communist regimes anyway?

Ummm... The wrong thread for commie related talks. :p
Anyway LOL, where's your Franco design?

I don't think I'll end up adding Galicia. I have no idea what the current state of the mod is and I'd rather keep all the civs released in this split a certain way.

Anyway, here's that Franco design which I'm not sure of:

UA: For Whom the Bell Tolls: Allies provide units like a City State (including their uniques) and you and your allies gain +15% military production when fighting a common enemy. All enemy units take damage whenever you or your allies capture one of their cities.

UU: Regulares: Replaces Great War Infantry. +25% Combat Strength against wounded units, increasing to +40% against units without defensive terrain bonuses (open terrain counts). Slightly heals any adjacent friendly units upon killing an enemy.

UU: Condor: More expensive than the Great War Bomber, but it has more range. Gain a free Condor upon signing a DOF, two if you share an ideology. Upon attacking an enemy, the Condor has a chance to remove defensive terrain bonuses from adjacent units for the rest of the turn. This range is extended to two tiles if attacking a city.

It's a modification I made to Scott's old Franco design. I tried to make it stronger, but I'm unsure if it's good or interesting enough.

So you basically befriend everyone and then backstab them all and cackle like a maniac?

I like it.

I think that it should have something to do with anarchy...

:p He wasn't fascist, nor anarchist, but he started a civil war.

Uh... Franco wasn't fascist?

I'd say he had his own agenda... Well, wiki says that.

I think the argument with Franco is that he became less fascist over time, but he was certainly a fascist during the Civil War and WW2. Anyway, any thoughts on the current design itself? Is it fine or could something more interesting be added that doesn't involve anarchism :p?

Here's a spanish user, if you need help I'll be glad to lend a hand.

Also, I'm starting to make some 2D models so I'm able to do something with this too, I think.

About this, Franco never came less fascist, his project was just unsustainable so his advisers and the people in charge changed the Spanish route. If Spain made what Franco wanted and only what he wanted, Spain will be even poorer that it was at those days.

Also, he collaborated with The States and the rest of the world at the Cold War not because he shared ideology with them, but because he was the #1 Communist Hater. He was, with no doubt, a fascist.

+Also, let me say that I'm from Galicia, with a little living in Asturias. Galicia is a quite interesting cultural place, with lots of writers and historic thinkers. We've got a rich culture and I'll be really, really glad to help anybody wanting to do something with our little country.

About Asturias, there are very important militar leaders there, as Pelagius, so if you're thinking in doing something with Spain I think that this place is a must.

Thanks for the offer! Franco's LS is already in production but I'll let you know if I need any other art :)

And thanks for the clarification about Franco. We didn't talk very much about him in my world or european history classes.

You're welcome, of course! Spain was always out of European wars of the last century, so it's totally normal people don't giving too much about the country. We almost keep paying our 19th century wars right know, that's the important part.

And I'll be glad to help in any other art, just tell me! Doesn't have to be a 2D Model, even if that's the only thing I've ever done around here. I want to keep improving my abilities.

We could ask him.

I still vote no to that - this isn't just a collection of Spain related civs, anybody can do that

I'd prefer if the civs in this split were primarily made by me since it feels kind of cheap to just tack on someone else's civ and I have a certain style in which I like to see civs done in general. I'm not opposed to doing them since they are that third big minority in Spain and one of my dad's best friends is Gallego, but if it were to be included in this split it would have to be made by me or as a collab involving me. The other thing with Galicia is that my Navarre civ is already based around great works, so a Galicia civ based on great writers might be repetitive. Same with Asturias since Castile is already a Reconquista based civ.

Ey guys, I'm sorry if I'm bringing problems to all this. That was the last thing I wanted to do! Please, stay at your first idea, I'll try to collaborate with what you wanted to do since de beginning!

OK then. Maybe, after we release the first version of the mod, we can add our own Galicia and Leon (it's not as if authors hold monopolies on civilisations).
