Since we have Steam Power and the Iron Horse, its time to start planning on construction of the Trans Fanatican Railroad. I plan to connect each Major City from West to East using a specalty selected team of Workers to speed the job. I am also plaing to reserve a couple of workers placed in as the Army Corp of Engenieres to be used to build railroads quickly in enemy territory.

Ill draw up the plans and post them later on :). I would also like to see other citizens cotributions to the Rail plan :).

Sounds good, CG. It may be slow going in the beginning due to our shortage of Workers, but if we can dedicate certain cities to short-term production of only Workers we will have the men to lay steel from Coneland to Memphis(or is it Giza? ;) ) in no time.

Another rail project we may want to consider is the immediate improvement of Gorina. We should do so only when it is declared with certainty that this is where the ToE Pre-build will commence. This grand project will add to Gorina's prodction in a major way.

Also, Mr. President, I know that I had told you to start selectively irrigating over mines in some of our cities. This is not one of them. Please do not touch any of the mines in this city, except to build rails over them.

I think railroading Gorina should take precedence over linking our cities by rail.

I will build many workers in the far western cities.

I agree with Donsig that the wonder cities Gorina, Aureus and Memphis have priority, but the Trans-Fanatican Railroad is important too. I suggest, all workers build the RR and when they pass 1 of those 3 cities RR that immediately. Of course all workers should work towards the nearest of these 3 cities on the TFRR.

Here I present a possible plan, as a citizen for our nationnal railroad. Needless to say that this just includes the transportation railroad of our country, the productive railroading of some of our cities overriding it, at the ask of an official.

The orange lines would be the primary network, mainly to bring troops to the front.

The blue lines would be the secondary network, built after the primary or at need to complete our network.

The red factories are military-production cities, as of aug. 20th.
The red shovels are worker-producing cities, as of aug. 20th.
The red houses are cities producing something else, as of aug. 20th.
The red skyscraper is Gorina, a wonder-producing city, as of aug. 20th.
The blue spades are worker stacks, as of aug. 20th.

My concept would be to get tree worker groups: One near WGH that begins the main railroad to Skunkworks, One near Skunkworks that builds the railroad from Skunkworks to Gorina and then start railroadind around it, and another group near Regia Doughnutia that sould make the main railway either way from Inadatto or Aureus and then back to finish the other way.

Feel free to comment or modify, or simply put aside this proposition.

Great work Fier Canadien. It looks like a good plan and have no comments now but will think on it.

Excellent work! I do hope this map is used as our rail network is built. I had called for Gorina to gave a higher priority for railroading but I'm not so sure that is needed. As is Gorina can accumulate the 600 shields for ToE in about 30 turns. At 60% science we are 16 turns from learning medicine and electricity. Scientific method will take maybe 10 to 12 turns beyond that so we have a window to work on the rail net before railroading Gorina for production purposes.

Can I ask the builders of this railway to give serious consideration to linking Quirinal to the system. It is very vulnerable to attack at the moment.

Hmm, Ill see what I can do. Ill give the instructions to Rik to make sure to connect Quirinal to the Railline :).

Well if the Aztecs launch a surprise attack on us, cities in Qurinal WILL fall. We will take them back but we will lose city improvements.

If we attack the Aztecs with that aim we will become vulnerable in P5. We will need the entire cavalry arm to acomplish this task and so P5 will have minimal defence. Remembe the Aztecs do have cavalry too. If I had 15 more Cavalry I could do it without any risk.

What if we built up our defensive military in Province #5 so that the cities in that area were safe from attack while we attacked the Aztec cities on the peninsula with most of our cavalry force?

There are 5 cities on the peninsula, some will have muskets. 30 cav will deal with these but it is inevitable that we will lose cities in P5 without cavalry support.
The Aztecs have cavalry too. Static defences will not protect a city from a concerted attack.
If we have 10 units in each border city for example, they need to have only 20 or so cavalry to take one of them. Surely we arent prepared to risk a city of ours for the sake of territorial conquest?
If you want the rest of the peninsula then campaign for 15 more cavalry. :)

personally, I don't like the look of this. WHY aren't these workers making railroads and improving Tyvek and Gorina? WHY aren't they connecting and irrigating Quirnial? WHY are they irrigating desert and roading alternate routs to Grozny when so much else needs to be done?

BTW there are 2 workers fortified in Asyut which should be used in the field.
