Great story telling; great strategy; and great playing. I very much look forward to seeing the rest of the Boer story unfold!
I'll update it when I get done with my Switzerland MeM story, which I need to update sometime... I've got trip to Phoenix this weekend coming up that I need to get around for, though....

Japanese Eritrea. Hahaha. I've always said that Eritrea is the 2nd most useless country in the world.
Sorry to any Eritreans reading this.![]()

You don't need to worry bout that... I don't think there's a private owned computer in the whole country nor do the probably play Civ 3.![]()

maybe an Eritrea Government official is viewing this on the only computer in the country.![]()
I've no idea where Hikaro got off too, but I wouldn't be surprised if he overwrote this game. I often do it whenever I drop a story for a bit - out of habit I save over the usual file.
lurker's comment: Hey, welcome back to CFC, man! Long time, no see.No, I actually still have it, but the story, particularly trying to deal with uploading screenshots with my slow internet connection, and the stupendously long turn times just killed my motivation....
Having said that, I finally got around to transferring all my civ III stuff over to my home-built, dual-core portable computer that runs AoI about 2x as fast as the old computer (which I'm using for the internet now), so I might get back to it... Then again, I just recently got engaged, so I wouldn't hold out TOO much hope. I did, however, play up to a point where it is literally impossible for me to lose (i.e. I have over 50% of the world population so I automatically win the League of Nations vote, and an insurmountable VP lead), so I'll at least try to get the story to that point so everyone can at least get some kind of closure.
, I hope that you do update this in the future. It would be great to see it to completion, but I can see why the long turn times would be a source of irritation. I have to say though, that finished or unfinished, this is one of my favorite stories to read. It's just all-around awesome.

), that will cover the years 1500 - 1900, be on a medium-sized European Map (probably the one from the Middle Ages conquest or the smaller of the two maps from MeM), with most of the unit lineups taken from AoE, but political/government stuff loosely based on EU III, particularly the ability to form "Vassal" states via SW (like MeM, but without the government restrictions), as well as "Unification" wonders (i.e. being able to form Germany if you control at least 2 of the three German states or something like that)... but I digress.
