Good call on the secracy stats (high off/low def). I like that.

I agree so far with the Aes Sedai being spread around. At first I thought maybe they should be their own civ since they have their own city, but as the books have shown, they still fight amongst themselves. Is Tar Valon going to still be a civ of it's own? Maybe at first it would start with a higher concentration of the Aes Sedai resource so it can really be as tough to take down as it is in the books. Who would be the leader then? Otherwise I love the idea of the skipping around resource.

Utahjazz7 just released a Longbowman unit which I think will work better for the Randland civs than the AoK conversion, so I'll swap them out on the unit list.

Also, since no one seems to have any issues with the Wise One model, I'll get started on it this weekend. Come Wednesday I'll be gone for a week and a half for Spring Break/ Easter Vacation, so I'll try and get it done by then if possible. I'll be able to check in via laptop, but won't be able to create anything since all those programs are on my desktop.

Have fun on vacation!

I love utahjazz7's work, a shame he doesn't do more these days. Wait, he is. :wow:

[Uno]No bloody posts for two flaming weeks?[/Uno]

I realize CamJH isn't here, but there should still be something going on. In the past couple months all we've had is unit creating going on. What else needs to be done? You could probably coerce me into doing anything other than graphics.

I find that somewhat amusing since most of the other mods I've seen around (with a few exceptions) have been just the opposite, plenty of people contributing to the mod but not enough units. :)

Good news is, I'm back now and have even installed the Poser 6 update on my computer. Once I get the hang of its new intricacies, which aren't that many, I can be right back to it.

Bad news is, I haven't seen Alerum online in quite some time and I don't even know that he's interested in continuing working on the mod. :( If he is, GREAT! If not, then we're back to square 1 as far as the biq goes. If anyone else would like to step up, I'd be willing to pass along as much of the info as possible, there's a good amount spread out in this thread. I'm willing to continue working on filling out the rest of the unit list (which is pretty much full), but without anyone else to handle the other side of things it's a little discouraging. There's so much time and energy invested in this project that it'd be a shame to let it dwindle. I think it could be truly great.

So we either have to find Alerum or build the stuff back up from scratch. Ow. I might be able to put all the info together, but someone else would have to make the actual .biq, as I know almost nothing about doing that.

I'm sorry guys I've been so absent, but I've been dealing with some personal issues, as well as going ot school full time, and work full time... I've played 20 turns on civ in the last 4 months, and just haven't had time to do anything but school, work, and sleep. Near the end of May, summer vacation starts and I go down to only the 50 hours a week of work, so I can squeze it in. As far as the BIQ it's fairly basic right now... The civs are set up, the map is there, and a few of the early units have been thrown in, but it's very basic. The tech tree, as it stands now, is completely empty. I have a general idea of how to both build the tech tree, as well as how to make it playable through the whole game, and still get all the techs learned, but that's about it... It's where I've ran into a wall... There was someone who was willing to help in the past with building a tech tree, but that never panned out. I believe Cam has the BIQ as far as I have it... maybe without the units in it. But, as it stands now it's a good week when I can log on and read the few threads I'm still subscribed too, let alone the forum like I used to. But, don't worry, the BIQ that Cam has is the same, so it won't have to be started from scratch.

No worries Alerum, I know you've had some things come up that take precedence. I just didn't know if you were still interested in working on the mod. If you want to start picking things back up in May, that's fine. Or if you'd prefer I pass the biq along, I can plug in the units and we can go from there. Up to you bud.

Nice to see you on again though. I thought I might have had to mention something about the Aiel to get a response out of you. :p

OK, back to WoT units. :)

Here's a preview of the Wise One unit I'm putting together.

I'd like to hear your thoughts. Hair? Coloring? Whatever.
Here's your chance to offer up some feedback.

BTW... Attacks will likely be lightning and fireball similar to the Asha'man.

Later :D

Comments:...Perfect!

anything going on here anymore?

any news for your loyal fans, dying to hear news...

anyone home?

The unit list is good. However, there are three things needed to be done.

1.) We need to set goals, such as when improvements, units and civs will be done.

2.) Give the people here lists, of everything needed to be done

3.) We need to organize a staff, such as the head of the project and so forth

Don't let this thread die out! This mod is very good. You guys deserve to have finished product.

What you're saying is good Saturn6. But I'm just waiting for someone to actually do it. People in this thread are great for offering up ideas, suggestions and questions, and plenty seem willing to contribute too... but to be honest it seems like nothing ever gets past good intensions.

I'm as anxious as everyone else for the finished product. I probably wouldn't stop playing it until I'd gone through it with every civ (except maybe Shara :) ), and then do it all over again. And I'm willing to do whatever I can to bring about the day when that'll happen, but it's going to take more than just a bunch of units.

I've stopped making StarTrek units. Not that I did all that I wanted to. But I've had a lot of changes going on that have kept me from it. I wasn't really good at it anyway. I don't have much time to put in. And I spend what free time I can muster to check my e-mail and play [c3c] . But with two kids free time is practically non-existant.

Anywho, I'd be happy to put in some time. I can do some graphics but most of my programs were all trials and they've expired. I can't do leaderhead flcs, but I can do other leaderhead graphics for the civilopedia and the foriegn advisors tab. However, I have to have the leaderhead pictures in various moods to begin with. Unless you just want to use the same image and put one of the happy/content/unhappy faces from the modified citizens graphic (for the city view) on the appropriate mood.... If you don't understand that last sentence I might be able to come up with an example......

Consider me as not having any sources of material to work with. Anything you would like me to work on will have to be provided. I recently moved and most of my stuff is in storage including the few books of the series that I do own. I guess that would mean civilopedia entires are out of the question.

I would assume that as you (CamJH) are doing units that you are also making the civilopedia graphics for those units. If not, send me a southeast view storyboard and I'll work on them too. PM me for my e-mail if and when you've got something you would like me to work on....
:)

I have found Cam, that providing people with a deadline, actually makes people do something. This is because no one wants to state when something is coming out, and then no come out with the product. The best way to encourage this sign people up into the staff, giving them comminments. However, I also realize, that with the school year coming to a close, a lot of people aren't on. So, I'd say, in about 2 months this place will be hopping. Untill then...

I agree with you completely Saturn6. The only thing is, I'm not the guy to assign them... I'm just a simple unit creator. :) I've made some small personal scenarios before, but nothing of this scope.

All my units should come with the pedia graphics needed. I don't believe I left any out. Whatever other graphics you could contribute would be great.

And I'm really procrastinating on those Trolloc heads... sorry :D I'll try to work some more up soon.

So if whoever is in charge around here has an idea of what they want for leaderheads, they can give me some static images for the civilopedia and the foreign advisors screen. I'll whip them into shap and slap some mood badges on them so you know when they are mad or happy while talking with your foreign advisor......

It would be simple enough cam. Here's an example of how staff could be set up:
Head of Project
Assistant Head
Staff Manager

Then there would be boards, lets say a Graphics board and a Creation board(making these names off the top of my head). Each board would have a head, who would be responisible for making sure that work was done. The head would have veto power over anything that his board created, but could be overided, by higher staff members,(i.g. Assistant Head). What do you think of this??
