awesome- I really do love your units, even if I've never craked open a WoT book before (you rmod makes me curious about the series, and I will at least play it ;))

Alright, since we have units being well under way I think it's time for city improvements. I'm not looking for Wonders quiet yet, but more along the lines of blacksmiths for shield increases, and the like. I'm figuring about 3 stages of improvements... ie- lumberjack = Blacksmith = Armorer or something along those lines.

Growth improvements I don't see being much use, since settlers will be off until later in the game. Also, I'm not the artist Cam is... so if you want to make the graphics for improvement, I won't complain.:)

For the barracks it could possibly go: Barracks = Garrison = Fortress, with increasingly powerful units available with each one.
And for the harbor: Dock = Harbor = Port, the same with naval units and mabye improved comerce and trade as well.

The Kandori is shapeing up well, nice job CamJH. :goodjob:

You'll still want to have growth improvements just so the cities can grow past certain sizes. I was thinking:
Well and/or Women's Circle= growth past 2
Aqueduct (or fresh water) and/or Healer's Quarters = growth past 7
Hospital ? and/or Aes Sedai Embassy = growth past 12

The Well, Aqueduct and Hospital would be available to all. The Women's Circle, Healer's Quarters, and Aes Sedai Embassy could be small/great wonders dependent upon certain resources and other prerequistes.

I've not read anything about a hospital in the series, but I couldn't think of anything else to put in that spot..... Maybe Infirmary would be better to use. I don't know.... :crazyeye:

There's always ways to help Vaerraent. ;) Glad to have you on board, and welcome to CFC.

As for the improvement lines, I think they all sound good so far. And I'm sure most of those have probably already been made in the Graphics forum (besides the ones we can just pull from Civ and its expansions :) ). TJ'd probably know best since I'm sure he's poured through them time and again looking at graphics for his D&D mod.

Thanks, and glad to be on board. :D

What can I help with? I can do a bit of Poser, but I'm bull at animations... I can also do banners and that kind of stuff. Well, last time I tried I could do it, it's been a while - Rome Total War, Battle for Middle Earth and Civ 3 tend to suck me up and leave me dry at the end of the day - not in the mood for gfx at all. "Just one more turn..." you know that feeling?

Alerum can probably best point you in the direction of where we can use some help. I look at him as the manager, while I'm just an (overzealous) employee. :) I believe (Alerum correct me if I'm wrong) he's working on putting together all the types of city improvements, then wonders after that, and I'm sure techs are close to follow. Civilopedias are still a way off I think, but I don't suppose those will be too much a problem with all the glossaries and "Robert Jordans The World of The Wheel of Time."

If you, or anyone else for that matter, would like to assist me personally, I could use someone to help with matching up sounds with my units (and Kinboat's as well). I included sounds with the Asha'man unit since it had some unusual animations, but the rest are silent for now. I need to go back and bump up the speeds of a couple of my first units, but I won't worry about that until we start adding them to the biq.

If you'd like to help with Poser, great; if not, that's fine too. If you're not great with animations, how are you with modelling?

Just some ideas I'm throwing out there. :) I'm sure there's plenty of other areas to help out besides those if you'd rather do something else.

I tend to stay away from the moddeling area and instead like editing textures on already made models. I used to modelhack and retexture half life models back in the day. Aaaah fond memories....

But back to earth. I'm rereading the series for the third time, and have access to all the books (Except New Spring, but I have read NS too.)

But my favourite point is making banners and stuff for websites, sigs or just for promo use.

Can you do animated Leaderheads or even static ones? I understand most people use Poser for making Leaderheads. Don't know if Leaderheads have been thought about yet.....

OK, spent some time working with the Domani model.
Working from this picture,

I've come up with this so far.

I'm not quite done with it yet. I still want to work in the circles on the chest plate if I can, and I was thinking about giving him a small shield... plus some minor alterations here and there. Just wanted to give you guys a preview. I'll give an update when it's all the way finished.

Comments?

aweome- I like this guy alot; perfect for a few purposes I have, bot historical, and ahh, somwhat less then historical ;)

Excellent as always :)

Are you going to try and add the nasal bar (or whatever its called) on the helmet?

@steel general- nosepeice :p

@Cam- I would- I think it woudl make his helmet look cooler, at this least for this particuler unit

I'm 120% sure Domani have copper-colored skin. Males and females, that is.

The rest is cool, though.

Thanks guys.

I mainly did that stance TJ so you guys could check out the sword a little better. :) I could work in something like that into the default pose if you'd like, but I think the sword might get heavy after a while. ;)

As for the nosepiece, I'm sure I can figure something out. I agree it would make the helmet a bit cooler.

And I'm leaning more towards giving him a shield now. I figure he wouldn't be as skilled in the martial arts as the borderlanders so he'd want that extra bit of protection. This is all hearsay, but what do we really know about Domani soldiers? I'll see if I can work in their flag's emblem onto the shield as well.

Edit: I'll see what I can do about the skin color too. Thanks for the reminder.

As for the static images, don't much know myself. I've never tried LH's before. I'm sure there's plenty of people in the main forum that could get you started in no time. And I'm sure if you could work in an Aiel that has a veiled face, TJ and Alerum would both be singing your praises. :)
