The World is Yours: Game's Thread

Africa
The Battle of Swaziland

After their conquest of Lesotho, the South African Union approached Swaziland and attempted to convince the King to have his nation join the Union as a new state. The King of Swaziland rejected this offer, claiming that under his rule the nation had prospered relatively well after World War III finished. Undaunted, the 1st Artillery Division (with the support of the 1st Air Commandos) attacked the standing Swazilandian Army, but only survived thanks to the great efforts of the Air Commandos, because the Mechanized Commandos weren't able to deploy back to South Africa proper before the attack went through. Despite this lack of help, the South African Army prevailed, although it was at a great cost, with many of the support units of the 1st Artillery Division being destroyed or killed, although it is hoped that it will be recovered soon. Nonetheless, South Africa has managed to add a new state to the Union, and is poised to expand even more.

1 Artillery, 2 CAS Squadrons vs 1 Infantry Division (9-3): 1 Artillery at half strength, 1 Swazilandian Infantry Division destroyed
Swaziland occupied by South African Union: 1 Garrison for 1 Turn
South African Union: +2c, +1 Treasury

Asia
The Golan Heights see once more the enemies' approach

After their invasion of Jordan went forward as expected, the Iraqi army went forward with the plans they had made before the creation of the Islamic Council and invaded Syria. This was certainly a smart move, especially since they had managed to build up their army, but unfortunately for them Syria had also manage to improve the size of their army. Despite this, the Iraqi Army, which had been separated in two following the invasion of Jordan, managed to turn it into a 2-pronged attack that would eventually manage to overcome the Syrian defences and, after two weeks, occupied Damascus, bringing most organised resistance down, although there are still several rebels in the north of the country, which has already be annexed to Iraq.

2 Insurgent Militia, 1 Armoured Division, 1 Artillery Division, 1 CAS Squadron vs 2 Infantry Divisions (13-6): 1 Iraqi Insurgent Militia destroyed, 2 Syrian Infantry Divisions destroyed
Syria occupied by Iraq: 1 Garrison for 2 Turns
Iraq: +3c

Vietnam Redux, but with better results

In a move that reminds many journalists of the American intervention in the Vietnam War in the 20th century, China has launched an invasion of the country with a gunship squadron becoming one of the most prominent weapons of the Chinese Army. However, the circumstances are definitively different now when compared to the war of 40 years ago: for starters, at the time, Vietnam (at least North Vietnam) was being supported by China and the USSR against South Vietnam and the USA, but now they are alone against China, and that is something difficult to overcome. As it happened against the US, the tougher nut to crack was not going to be the normal army, but the Vietcong, but their lack of weaponry will probably doom their efforts to free their nation from the foreign hands. China has already officially annexed Vietnam to the growing People's Republic.

2 Red Infantry, 1 Gunship Squadron, 1 Bomber Squadron, 1 Artillery Squadron vs 1 Infantry Division (8-3): 1 Chinese Red Infantry at half strength, 1 Vietnamese Infantry Division destroyed
Vietnam occupied by People's Republic of China: 1 Garrison for 2 Turns
People's Republic of China: +2c, +1 Treasury

Europe
Germany reinforces its army

As they consolidate their holdings in Luxembourg, Germany has decided to reinforce their army through commisioning the construction of a whole Armoured Division that they hope will help in the future when invasion of neighbouring countries becomes important. However, this reinforcement, while it may be important in the future, it may be a mistake in the present as other nations make the most and expand their holding, either for their own benefit, either to bring some order to the chaos that has been a part of the world for the last 5 years. Only time will tell if this was a wise decision.

Returning to the past, it seems

As plans for the construction of the Perm super industrial complex go onward, with the first great phase of construction having being completed in a record time, Russia has decided to revive the old times of the Soviet Union and has gone for the former Soviet republics that independized from the USSR 27 years ago. First stop: Estonia. With the Steel Guards taking on the brunt of the attack and the 20th Air Corps advancing to provide support to the land units, the small Estonian Army wasn't able to stand the onslaught of Russia's might before Tallinn was at the crosshairs of the 1st Mechanized Division. The Estonian government chose to surrender before leaving the capital towards the south, in order to instaure a government-in-exile until the country was able to liberate itself or someone else freed it from the Russian claws.

1 T-95 Division, 1 Mechanized Infantry Division, 1 Gunship Squadron vs 1 Infantry Division (8-3): 1 Russian Mechanized Infantry Division at half-strength, 1 Estonian Infantry Division destroyed
Estonia occupied by Russia: 1 Garrison for 1 Turn
Russia: +2c, +1 Treasury, +1 Factory (+3c)

Unification of Iberia, finally!

Iberia is a place of celebrations, indeed, as finally all of it is under one banner, which had not happened since the times of the Austria Kings. The pacification of Portugal having gone on as expected, the 2nd Mech Infantry Division and the 3º de Infantería Hispana were created in Catalonia and Andalusia, respectively. These two newly developed military units were tasked with the occupation of the two small nations in the north and the south of Spain: Andorra and Gibraltar. The occupation of Andorra was practically a token one, because since the start of World War III Andorra, although still independent, was practically a part of Spain due to their increasingly bigger economic ties to their southern neighbours. Gibraltar was a bit more difficult, but the only resistance the 3er Ejército had to face was a token one from a small militia led by Chief Minister Caruana, which soon surrendered when faced with the whole Ejército. Caruana has been allowed to continue as Governor of Gibraltar, while the Congreso decides which should be the new relation between the two small statelets and Spain.

Andorra:
1 Infantry Division vs nothing (1-0): no casualties
Andorra occupied by Spain: no garrison needed

Gibraltar:
1 Mechanized Infantry Division vs nothing (2-0): no casualties
Gibraltar occupied by Spain: no garrison needed

Spain: +2c, +4 Treasury

Isolationism in the United Kingdom?

Despite ample possibilities of helping on the restoration of order in the post-WWIII world and of finally restoring the British Empire, the United Kingdom seems to have chosen isolation, a move that may come later to bite them in their arses. Already the ancient territory of Gibraltar, which declared independence when it became obvious that the UK wasn't going to continue with their efforts of helping them, has been conquered by Spain, yet not a move was done. Unless the government does something, soon the United Kingdom will see how the many lands around them that are in chaos fall into the hands of several potential enemies.

North America
USA creates employment at home

After a month in which resources were hoarded by the United States Government, it finally has downed on the world that their only intention was to improve the nation's industry through the construction of a series of factories all along the United States in order to create employment and secure the economy from potential upheavals that may happen anytime in the future. However, their neighbours in North America are keeping a constant eye in the United States, because one never knows whether they are willing to keep peace in the region or if they are just preparing to launch an invasion of their neighbours to boost their already growing economy. Who will be right, that's something we'd like to know.

South America
Brazilian imperialism shown at last?

In South America, Brazil continues with its conquests. Capitalizing on the conquest of French Guiana hardly a few weeks ago, the Brazilians have rapidly trained a second army formed exclusively by Infantry Divisions and have thrown it against Guyana, while the 1st Army has left French Guiana to strike at the old Dutch colony of Suriname. While the latter have a relatively easy battle in which they had a clear superiority in attacking power and numbers, the former found themselves in problems as the Guyanese Army was well entrenched in their positions. The bullet fight between the two armies killed many soldiers in both sides, but more in the Brazilian side than in the Guyanese. However, in the end numbers won against defence and the 2nd Army would manage to overcome the Guyanese position, although losing a half of their numbers in the process. With Paramaribo and Georgetown in Brazilian hands, it is hoped that the invasion will be consolidated in a little time.

Guyana:
3 Infantry Divisions vs 1 Infantry Division (3-3): 1 Brazilian Infantry Division destroyed, 1 Brazilian Infantry Division at half strength, 1 Guyanese Infantry Division destroyed
Guyana occupied by Brazil: 1 Garrison for 1 Turn

Suriname:
1 Mechanized Infantry Division, 1 Armoured Division, 1 Artillery Division vs 1 Infantry Division (7-3): 1 Brazilian Mechanized Infantry Division at half strength, 1 Surinamese Infantry Division destroyed
Suriname occupied by Brazil: 1 Garrison for 1 Turn

Brazil: +4c, +2 Treasury

The End

Will have map for tomorrow. It's really late now, and I need to sleep.

Also, to answer Charles Li's probable questions about why didn't the Mech Commandos Attack Swaziland: Land Units can only move 1 country per turn. Lesotho and SA are, despite the stories, still treated as different countries. Thus, having the Mech Commandos go from Lesotho to South Africa already counted for that. Lesotho was worth 2c, not 1c, so that was retroactively changed in the first update.

This is the accounting from this turn:
Brazil - 10c/2T
China - 9c/4T
Germany - 6c/7T
Iraq - 9c/3T
Russia - 10c/3T
South African Union - 9c/5T
Spain - 11c/9T
United Kingdom - 5c/5T
USA - 8c/2T

With Syria occupied, the Islamic Republic of Iraq is now the first and only gulf state that has access to ports in the Mediterranean. To benefit Iraq and Syrias economies pipelines will be constructed from the oil fields in southern Iraq to new crude oil ports and refineries on the Mediterranean. Environmental groups complain about the possible ecological damage, but to deaf ears. Anti war groups worry over Iraqs ability to put a navy in the Mediterranean and Israel above all is worried about Iraqs expansion.

The government of Iraq sees Lebanon as an extension of Syria, and indeed, many Syrian fighters fled there after the war. The Iraqi commander in Syria, General Rashadi, ordered a pursuit by fire of the Syrian forces fleeing to Lebanon while also bombarding the Lebanese military.

Orders Turn 3:
Build Factory in Syria
Bombard Lebanon with 1st Artillery and 1st CAS
0C left to bank

OOC: I will most likely not be able to visit CFC again until Sunday/Monday. Sorry. Milarqui, i will PM you with some general instructions for Iraq if i don't make it back in time for the turn 4 orders deadline.

A few question - can units inside my territory move more then 1 country a turn (like the gunship in Vietnam can attack northern countries like Korea?)

And can we build units anywhere or just in our capital country?

whats the chance for a quick update?

people finish updating orders, shouldn't take that long!

How did Spain get Andorra and Gibraltar if its army was in Portugal? Also, can you move the American Iron Hammers down into LA. Its important to Russian-American relations.

Also, you forgot to the islands of Saaremaa, Hiiumaa, and Vormsi in with my Estonian conquest. They are the three noticeable islands of the Estonian coast. Can this be changed please?

I created 2 more units in Spain and sent them to Andorra and Gibraltar. As for the Iron Hammers, the only reason I painted them where they are is because it was the first place where the tag could be in, so essentially they are already in LA. However, if you prefer me to move it, I have no problem.

Also, sorry for the islands, as I didn't know they were Estonian. I will correct it soon.

Burned... Can we have custom projects? I would want to build a Highway/superhighway.

Next turn... Mozambique!

I guess that the Highway Project would be used to be able to move your land units faster. Am I mistaken?

I'll have to say no, anyway. If you were allowed to create Custom Projects, soon I'd be swamped with questions of the prizes of this or that idea, and no, thanks. I already have enough to do that with MilarNES II.

Just build one of the existing buildings, that gives the bonus you want, and name it whatever you want.

I can build a "trade ports" as a factory...

from the Chinese embassy
to Russia:
We are rather sad to see India in the list of your allies. India has claims on lands that are part of the Chinese republic, lands in Kashmir, as well as Pakistan. While we have no intension of invading the Indian nation we are not amused by the Russians aligning themselves with two enemies.
We are the Russian's allies, but we must say we are not terribly happy.

to Iraq:
The Chinese are unhappy about your alliance with Iran and Pakistan. Disable that alliance instantly or we will have to shut our embassy in Iraq. That alliance is nothing but a foolish show of power against the expanding Chinese power and we might have to test you on that show of power.

OOC: So when all the Europeans assault France and who's suppose to take it?

I'm going to resign this NES, sorry. It wasn't what I thought it was going to be.
This will make Germany the strongest NPC :p

The problem I believe is lack of players, so this became kind of like a hunt for countries until someone kills all...

We are the Russian's allies, but we must say we are not terribly happy.

India is not just an ally of the Russian Federation, but a member of the BRIC alliance, meaning they are allied with Brazil and China as well. China was notified by Russian officials on India's claims, and Chinese officials accepted this. Along with this, China declared what it deemed to be "Chinese territory", and none of this included what you had just stated (Kashmir and Pakistan).

China has historically controlled lands in northern Kashmir. India and Pakistan both lay their eyes on Chinese lands. We have no claims in the area outside of what we control currently but we are not full of trust towards the Indian nation or the Pakistani one to not invade northern Kashmir in the near future.

We are also very unhappy with the situation that the people who live in Kashmir outside of Chinese territory are in. They live in poverty and constant war, something the Chinese republic sees as wrong.

As said, we have no plans to invade any of the states of the Indian sub-continent but we are unpleased with them and how they handle their population in Kashmir. As an ally of India we do hope Russia can find a solution to the situation in Kashmir.

EDIT:
To Taiwan:
You are still considered rebels from the Chinese republic. Do not think we have forgotten of our situation with you because of the late wars the Chinese have been in.
