THE WWII Civ Team (units, mods and other)

Since we are "growing" very much (that's GREAT!!!! Thank you! )
I have decided to make stuff on the THIRD REICH TEAM more interesting and fun
I will be assigning OFFICIAL MEMBER RANKS that are:
Füehrer
General
Oberst
Hauptmann
Feldwebel
Fähnrich

The ranking should be posted right next to the THIRD REICH TEAM logo (example: Fähnrich)

I am the Füehrer (of course, I am the person that started this team! )
I would like to assign the rank of General to W.i.n.t.e.r. and Pablostuka
and the Oberst to Kentonio (he was one of the first members of our team going back in April 2002)...
But before if give it a GO!
I would like to see if everybody in my team is o.k. about it.
If it's yes, then I will be going through the Forum to find all the names of our teamates and start assigning ranks.
The new-comers of course will be ranked Fähnrich

How about if you agree, just post a reply (or with your reply) "Yabol" !

Let me know...this is just a thought for fun.

I Don't want to be offending, but your list is a bit mixed up..

A Feldwebel is a kind of Sergeant, and is below the Fähnrich who is an Ensign!


I would suggest the following List:

Führer (thats' you - the starter - there is only one once)
General
Oberst (Colonel)
Major
Hauptmann (Captain in the Army)
Leutnant (Lieutenant)
Fähnrich (Ensign)

Now we have only Officier ranks! If you wan't to use "Unteroffiziere" ("sub-officiers") like "Feldwebel", you should list them below the Ensign!

But realy cool idea! I love this!

So I vote a "Yabol!, but we should discuss the ranks a bit!!!

BTW: The officiers (but not the 4 Generalls) are very the same in Germany...

Only the uncomisioned offivers varry...
e.g. in Austria we have "Wachtmeister", in Germany that's a "Feldwebel"

That's the difernce between Prussian and Austrian Tradition

That's exactly the ranks that are used today too! I just ripped Oberleutnant and Oberstleutnant becuase that would be to much..

I have an Idea!

We don't assign ranks, but rank-numbers!
I mean it this way:

An Example with Heer, SS and Kriegsmarine...
#1 = Führer
#2 = General, Oberstgruppenführer or Admiral
#3 = Oberst, Standartenführer or Kapitän
#4 = Major, Sturmbannführer or Korvettenkapitän
#5 = Hauptmann, Hauptsturmführer or Kapitänleutnant
#6 = Leutnant or Obersturmführer
#7 = Fähnrich


So if somebody has a rank of number 4, he can choose between all ranks of this number!
If he finds other ranks of the same importance in the internet he can use them as well!
e.g. If I would have rank number #5, I could call me
Hauptmann of the Third Reich team
or
Hauptsturmführer of the Third Reich team
or
Kapitänleutnant of the Third Reich team

So everybody can have the rank-name he wants, and everybody should be sattisifed!

I had an idea for a German specific unit that I would like to share with you and the rest of the Third Reich Team.

What about creating a pioneer unit? It could have the build fortress ability and possibly the build road/railroad ability as well. It could have a modest attack/defense rating so it wouldn't be totally helpless like the worker. It would be able to operate in the dangerous fringe areas of one's empire, or accompany tanks and infantry in the attack. I would also add a limited bombardment ability to reflect a demolition capability.

I would think that some small alteration of the Grenadier, Waffen SS or Leibstandarte would suffice to provide the animation for this unit, so there wouldn't be a lot of work involved.

What does everyone think of this?

These rankings look good to me pi8ch. Nice idea.
We can go by the numbers and then anybody can choose what name they like

I can suggest that you can post here what ranking "ONESTLY" you think you should have. Then I will ok it or not

The Swastika Flag I made it myself.
I used an existing "Albania" flag that I found at a 3D flag site.
Then I just drew over the Nazi cross

I will be posting the rankings tonight.

Why, I'd delighted to join nonnob3. Thank you for the invitation. I must warn you that I don't think that I really possess any special skills that would be of use to the team. I do like playing around with sounds alot, so perhaps I can assist Pablostuka in that area. Again, thank you for the invite.
