nonnob3,

I think I have finally figured out how to set up all your units in my game. The two that were giving me the most trouble were the Grenadier and the Leibstandarte SS. These two appeared at the same time and would have, more or less, the same stats. I wanted the AI to use both. So I decided to set the Grenadier, or Infantrie as I have called them, as offensive and the Leibstandarte SS as defensive. As for the Waffen SS, they are the equiv. of Marines and the Wehrmacht is Rifleman. What do you think of that?

Sounds great! Kingpin :)
So that means all my units appear in the game! :yeah:
Can you post here all the units stats, A/D so that we all can have an idea to place them in our mods?
Thanks herr leutnant!

I set up the old Grenadier to be a ressource-cheap German Infantry, at the same time the new Grenadier with slightly better stats becomes the ressource-bound Infantry. These appear for the WWI technologies with the SAME tech, but old grenadier automatically upgrades to nu grenadier. :) :) :) (my own creation)

The Wehrmacht is the basic upgrade to the two grenadiers- (this way, if you build a distant colony and do not have resources U dont have to build cavemen but can continue on a slightly lesser quality level than you already achieved- and it wont look funny--- need more non-german alternatives to the infantry, though...)

The offensive Waffen SS and defensive (and expensive) Leibstandarte SScome in with an additional tech which will allow Germany to build special troops (once the first victory is incurred by a panzer and Germany enters its Golden age, the achieving of that tech should be betwen 4 and 10 turns only ;))

nonnob3, Do you want my stats for ALL german units or just yours?

Either way, I can do it but it will have to wait until later when I am back at my own machine...

... hehe

Uhm, the "non-German units" are meant to do the same with other nations tech-trees as with the two Grenadiers. I want to make this the standard without forcing either myslef or the AI to build rubbish units once some precious resources are lost- u can always give your soldiers some sort of uniform, a rifle (gunpowder is really easy to make once U know how to- knowledge such as this should be basic) :D and also increases the challenge to wrestle down the opponent as it now takes more than just cutting off rubber!

A similar thing happens with the invention of nationalism in my mod: The Swordmen upgrade to Militia (the Guerillero with the Machete) without needing any extra ressources- since U need salpeter for riflemen, cities without connection to a source of the precious good can only build militias with blades. Connected cities though will automatically upgrade to Riflemen- the clue: No extra technology needed in between the upgrade chain, and one gets a gradual "safety-line" once a certain standart of technological development has been reached :) On the downside I have to mention that Guerilleros and 'Old' Grenadiers will see little action, since well-developed empires should also be well-structured with roads, ports, etc.

I think this is a cool feature though (and believe this is the reason PTW brings along the Guerilla unit and the Medieval Swordsman)

Omni, nonnob's profile says Chicago. That's in Central Time Zone. It's in the state of Illinois which is southwest of the Great Lakes.

But I'll go online on MSN so you won't be so lonely.

About god-darned time! ;)

I D/L-ed the updated units yesterday and tried 'em in a game. Lookin' good. :goodjob:

Is anyone still working on the WESPE? :groucho:

Also (nonnob will probably kill me for this, but...) has anyone thought about making a nebelwerfer?
You know, the multi-barreled rocket launcher.

Just some thoughts. :D

OK, lets see that motorcycle! :whipped:

There are heaps of good models here if any one can be bothered PAYING for them..

How much is it?

I might be willing to spring for it, then D/L the models for everyone.

EDIT: OK, a membership is $131. Thats a little steep.
However, you can buy a CD with a bunch of units for $30-40, and I can affod that. ;)

They also do custom requests...

Awesome!!
It's not cheap though... but you can also pay for models individually.....
I do suggest you check it out!
......I guess you have:goodjob:
