Hi,

When routing a train, I will occasionally get the message, "This depot is already the last one in your stop list". It then greys out the "Ok" button.

However, my stop list didn't even have this depot listed. For example, I may try to go from City A to City B. When I add City C, it gives me the message. The message implies that it would be a problem if I had: City A to City B to City B. However, this isn't the case.

I need enlightenment, please. :)

Ahhh I figured it out. Turns out I didn't have a good route for the train to return from City C to A. Once I laid the appropriate track, it worked just fine.

Sorry everyone and thanks! It had actually been plaguing me for a week. Right after I posted, I loaded up the game, ran into the problem, then took a closer look at my route map and saw the problem.

Yes and no.

It's horrible in the sense that linking up rails can be annoyingly finicky, but once you get the hang of it, it's only "unnecessarily difficult" rather than horrible. ;)

As for trains not being able to go from point A to point C if there isn't a switch at point B, although it may be a little annoying, it's pretty realistic and after taking some time to get used to it, not too bad.

Of course, an "auto-switch-placement" feature could eliminate all this annoyance, but then it would also kill most of the challenge.

Actually, even better than an "auto switch" would be a switch placement tool. That'd be great--instead of having to use the ridiculously picky track layout tool, drag a ghost switch around, click if the ghost switch is green, and down it goes. The most frustrating thing in the game for me right now is having to delete all the track around a misplaced switch. Seriously, half the time for me I end up with an end of track marker in the middle of the track rather than a signal light. And those darn things are impossible to select unless you delete all the track around them.

Good point - that *would* be a huge improvement.

Having said that, with a good mouse, and enough practice, it should be possible to get enough finesse to pull it off... ;)

Exactly, all it needs it is a "switching box" which you place wherever you feel you might need them - such as on the approach to a station.

Without this, its total micromanagement to get right - which is EXACTLY what they said they didn't want.
