Thread to Report Issues with new xenForo version 2.2

So, how can you add people to the ignore list now? (had a look and didn't immediately locate the option to add)

PS: the black CFC skin was infinitely better than this look, although unlike Valka I only say it due to how horrible it is aesthetically.

I am not sure how the administration could have missed it, but it is rather obvious that giving options for smileys in response will lead to using them for trolling. A good example of that would be the "burst out laughing" smiley, when used for posts that aren't funny etc.
Is there any ability (I mean site-encompassing, not individual user) to disable that? (do note that I don't mind as much, as long as you either make an issue out of it consistently, or let it be consistently - my worry is that neither will happen).

Yeah, those reaction smileys can foster a lot of ill-will for people determined to be trolls/jerks. There's a woman on the local MLA's FB page who regularly posts the "haha" emoji on posts where people have expressed frustration with various problems including cut/deleted funding for special needs/disabled kids, or mentioned loved ones who got sick or died of covid. This miserable woman thinks all that is really, incredibly funny and she's constantly complaining that nobody there likes or respects her.

Well, if you're going to laugh at deaths in other people's families...

Just the phrase "______ likes this" is good enough. If they have any other emotional reaction, they can either say so or send a PM.

No, I actually like the new response smilies. But if we are to get rid of them then I demand tribute of a "clown" smiley to be made in the regular smiley section when typing a response.

Besides we have moderators here if it's being used offensively, so we could always have it so no smileys are allowed for RD type threads.

P.S. Give us a poop emoji if no clown emoji. Or both actually, I would prefer both. :crazyeye:

I would like to request the theme Modern CFC with no sticky nav bar, if possible.
I’d like it for the “old” theme too, although I still think of the one with the Civ2 fanatic unit as the classic theme. I’m like Grandpa Simpson yelling at the cloud, but whatever.

Also, weighing in on negative reaction buttons: I’d get rid of them. They’re bad for user activity; if I find something objectionable, I don’t have to post anymore, now I can just passive-aggressively leave some icon that says poop to you. The “goal” of the forum upgrade, in my opinion, ought to make people want to post more and not less.

People already use likes like this. I'd prefer to keep the expanded set. Certainly makes reacting to news and events more accurate than "liking" something about a forest being on fire or a game crashing to similar.

I keep trying to put a space between lines and then it erases the space between the lines.

Like see how this text is in a different line? Well, if I keep typing long enough, it forces deletion of the line. I hit the 'enter' key three times for a new line, before I finished this and it left a line between the above sentence and this paragraph. No... make that four... FIVE times.

The theme I'm inflicted with is visually awful. When are we getting themes like blue, dark, green, etc. back?

I used to see only the threads with new posts on Watched threads page https://forums.civfanatics.com/watched/threads
Now I see all watched threads and have to go through the dates of the last post to check if there's anything new. Much less convenient.
Other than the url, what's different? I always saw all watched threads, with unread posts in bold just like on the forum view.

What I've noticed is that I can't find threads started by a user anymore. It used to be a link on the "postings" tab of their profile, but now I can't even figure out how to search for it manually. I was just trying to find one of my own where I couldn't remember the title, and had to scroll back through pages of posts.

edit: still poking around, the new bookmarks and profile banner features are nice
edit2: oh good grief, I just discovered the emoji reactions
edit3: aha, I found the search for my threads: right on the nav bar, under "my threads". strange place for it. but how to find someone else's threads?

Also there is another thing, now every single tab has the number of notifications on top as part of the title which:
(a) is superfluous because I already have a tab for subscriptions and another for alerts (I know the country needs lerts)
(b) is actually bothersome because it takes up space in the tab header that would be better spent actually telling me what thread it is.
(c) is distracting, furthermore, because it keeps changing dynamically.

Also, why is CFC requesting my authorisation for push notifications? What are they?

You had me at trolling.

On topic, I'm owed a computer.

Also, the members page has more options, but there's a ‘most points’ option that is more or less useless. Everybody caps out at 113 points.

Edit: and the subscriptions page (‘watched/threads’) is now what before used to be the ‘watched/threads/all’ page.

I think I figured out how to do that:

I'm working on a Christmas one. More red than green, but still a halfway decent amount of green. Heavily inspired by the old vBulletin Christmas theme.
