There's no equivalent in parliamentary systems for the combined legislative and governing role of presidents in presidential systems.

Exactly. Ceremonial presidents, parliamentary supremacy. That's what the republics that eventually replace Westminster systems will look like, just like in India and Ireland

And yet both systems elect their leaders and both PM and presidents are "in charge" of their nation. Every government figures in Britian answers to Truss. Every government figures in US answers to Biden.

Not really no. In parliamentary systems, the public sector is accountable to parliament.

Kishida. Japanese constitution is very clear on that point.

Or in another way the Diet is in charge.
Exactly. Just like Biden is in charge of US and (unfortunately) Yoon is in charge of Korea. Kishida is equal to Yoon in terms of political power.

No idea about Korea, but Kishida's position is by virtue of his party having a majority in the legislature, which is not "just like" how Biden is in charge of the US.

Considering liberal democratic party has been in power for forever...
Either way people vote who is going to he in power. It is just that in parliamentary system you do it via party rather than a person.

If republic gives birth of utterly moronic leaders like Yoon of S.Korea... I would rather have 100 years of Charles III then 5 years of Yoon.
Rather than let your fellow citizens choose your leader you'd take a chance on the whims of genetics?
Your contempt for and mistrust of the people of your country must be pretty high.

Problem with democracy. The voters.

Queen, Charles and William are improvements over what we have had vomited up recently.

I'm not a raging monarchist either.

Its still random though. Look back at British history and the mad and the bad were more common in our monarchy than the good.

They're also not actually good, they're just occupying positions within an entire system designed to make them look harmless and benign in order to perpetuate them.

All I hear when people praise them over elected officials is "this delicious consent is so well manufactured!"

Can they actually harm the nation though?

Well after Trump, Scomo, Bolsonaro, Bojo old Queenie looks better by comparison.

Not familiar with him but you're not a fan.
Trust me he makes Trump and Scomo look like Lincoln in comparison.
He is doing nothing but drinking alcohol. He even spelled Her Majesty's name wrong in his Twitter when commemorating her death.
