i just had a diplo win and these are tips and comments:
i played Louis XIV on normal terra map with 6 civ on settler level (my first game)
i found 6 religions, build almost all wonder (win before the last one were built), didn't make any war, and focus on wonder and great people
what i noticed and liked
-it's normal that no leader is philosophical and industrious, wonder rush would have been overpowered with great people
-try to gathered wonder that produce the same type of GP, so you can be sure of the type you will have
-try to build two monasteries of all religion you found, at least one, you may build the one of the other religions. When the disabling tech will come (spare parts or scientific method, don't remember, maybe another one), you still may want to build missionaries....
-the two great people that impress me were engineer and artist, the culture bomb and the wonder rush were very impressive to me
-building galleons is very important, especially to colonize the islands that are out of range of others civilization
-big culture is very impressive, during my game, 5 cities flip to me because of my culture
-try to build the religious improvement that give +50% on border, it can make a huge difference
-about specialists: if you build the good wonders, priest can be the best avalaible, the only problem is that they give prophet GPP and you would prefer others GP
-if you look for a diplo win, maximize food at the end game, so you will have more votes
-the "beep beep beep" sentence is a must listen
-at settler level, the AI is not good for having great GPT, so you will have little gain with dealing with the AI
-try to found a maximum religion, actually, i didn't see any counterpart in founding multiple religions
-try to get these religion in a maximum number of cities, so you will have a lot of money (and i mean a huge pack) once you build the shrines
what i regret:
-the malus from tensions with boundaries
-the fact i need to turn off the ingame movies to prevent a crash
-there is no philosophical and industrious leader (even if it's overpowered), just one game with that
-the cost for upgrading unit
what i will do:
-maybe another game at settler level so i can build all wonder easily again
-go on another level
-try to win a conquets game to test the military side
