TNESI: The Glorious Mysteries

OOC: So my domestic plans didn't even merit a mention? Did anything happen, then?

From Bavaria
To Lothringen

You fool. You are letting the nation of Aquitaine unite France. Don't you see that you are next? They will not set idly by and let you to continue to exist. They betrayed us what makes you think they will not betray you.

To Bavaria
From Lothringen

So you expect me to trust one who has been undiplomatically blunt in his desire for my eastern territories over one who stood by me even when attacked by the greatest power in the west?

One of us is a fool, and I'll give you a hint: it's not I.

We never had intentions to attack you. We offered to purchase these terroritories and warned you your continued occupation will only lead to revolt over the years.

Even if so this does not give you the right to betray us does it?

Edit: We would like the whole league to see what has happened to us. Look what they plan to do to a faithful ally that followed through with what we were told.

1) Bavaria will cede to the Norse Empire, in addition to the territories already held by the Empire, the west bank of the Elbe, including the city of Prague, and the territories north of the Main.

2) Bavaria will cede to Lothringen, all territories currently held by Lothringen.

3) Bavaria will agree to become a vassal state of the Norse Empire.

4) Bavaria will immediately withdraw from the Catholic League.

5) Bavaria will immediately declare war on the Kingdom of Poland

6) Bavaria will formally apologize for its subjugation of the German states and the betrayal of its alliance with the Norse Empire.

7) Bavaria will reduce its tariffs on goods from Norse, Aquitainian and Lothringian markets.

Is this fair? We call up on Spain our allies or at least Aqutaine to help us get fair terms. It is the least you could do despite this betrayal...

Betray you? As you adamantly insisted earlier, we aren't allies. Would've given you a convenient excuse to violate my sovereignty when those manufactured rebellions occured, I guess.

From: Norse Empire
To: Catholic League

These terms are fair. Bavaria retains its historic territories, does not have to pay any indemnity and will be protected by the Norse Empire. We fail to see how any of these are unreasonable. The Bavarian king seems determined to bring yet more ruination to the people of Germany in the pursuit of his grandiose delusions. We ask that the Catholic League pressure this madman to accept our terms and restore peace to Germany.

Excuse me. Bavaria sent our men to fight to help protect your sovereignty from the Norse. Do you not remember the reason this whole war was started?

For economic purposes, who counts as the controller of Mecca, Hadramaut or Zanzibar?

Great update, by the way.

Of course we remember. But you entered the war because you were allied with Aquitaine and you thought you could get some territory on the cheap, not because of any altruistic feeling on your part. As you repeatedly stated, you were more interested in our territory than our friendship.

Actually I never thought that Shortguy. Why does everyone think I would get land for cheap? I actually had much more to gain by allying with the Norse then with you?

I was stupid when I could have all of Germany at the moment and the Norse would control France but instead I helped what I thought were my allies.

great update, this nes is at the moment to me the most interesting, I am so glad I am holding on.

I agree. I actually was pretty surprised when you decided to void your alliance with the Norse. I figured that instead of asking for the Rhine cities you'd just take them for yourself.

Since what had been an IC debate threatened to go OOC, let me just say that I'm sorry if my side-switching bothered you. I just did what I thought was best, and I hope you'll take it in the IC spirit in which it was intended.

Well I am trying to make a point. You could just let me keep my territories as I can see why I led you the wrong way but if you do this the Catholic League will not be there to protect your nation ever again.

My power is gone and I do not mind being where I started but the only way for this to happen is for you to agree to allowing me to keep my territories along the Rhine.

I am generally trustworthy and I guess that was my fault. I should have went for something much bigger...

Good Update, but what with the Pius thing:(

Perfectionist, so are we at an agreement or not?
Not yet. I need to consider things.

The Sultanate of Hadhramaut recommends that discussion over which Muslim nation shall contain the holiest city of Mecca at the end of this war take place now.

Until the military situation has stabilized, I recommend that Hadhramaut and Zanzibar continue the joint control of the area.

Hadhramaut requests that it has possession of the city once the Druze removed from Arabia.

OOC: Cuiv, which of us needs the eco bonus more?

Persia lays claim to Mecca and Medina.

@Thalyi what are those damn Central Asians complaining about?

To Persa
From Khanate of the Golden Horde

Do not think that we are unaware as to what part you have played in this. Take care not to try the patience of the Khan further.

To Galacia
From Khanate of the Golden Horde

The might of the horde pours into you homeland. Let this be a lesson against those who plot against and defey the Horde.

To Kostroma
From Khante of the Golden Horde

We consider you to be a loyal ally. You have done well.

To Norse Empire
From Khante of the Golden Horde

Now that the Swedish Empire has collapsed shall we set the formal borders?

So you're saying that you're in the situation you're in because you're too trustworthy? That may be true--I'm not qualified to judge--but I'd say that your fault was tipping your hand too early. I would have been much more inclined to accept your aid had you not asked me to hand over my most (at that point only) profitable lands. Your "unite Germany" crusade didn't help, either. How am I supposed to trust someone who covets my land so much?

And Thlayli, now that I have my land back shouldn't my economy recover some? Just a little, maybe?
