Tom's Unit Factory

:satan::deal::devil:
:lol:

In all seriousness, I good few post to keep in mind as a general guide for all unit/sound whangling.

:lol: And for some reason, lately, Flicster won't let me get to 666, it skips the speed number and I always end up slightly above or below that number. A Flicster-induced spiritual struggle? :eek:

I need this model for Hero Charna, but the original texture looks great as is. Charna, the Death Knight, wears silver armor... but I will release the golden armor model first here.

This model uses a bow animations. But should I give her a (golden?) sword instead. She seems more like a warrior to me than an archer. I'm using a sword animation for the silver version (with silver sword), so if I keep this one the same, it could be used as an upgrade (gold armor with gold sword).

(Not sure how effective a Knight in full armor wielding a sword is while wearing armored high heels? But what do I know :))

Regarding Flicster... Set the Flc speed to 65 or 67 and use your Mouse Wheel to roll one click forward or backward to set 66 speed. You can see if the speed is set when you check "Frame Delay:, "Current Viewer Delay".
You can use this same technique to set any speed that is difficult to set with the slider.
For some reason Flicster has always had a problem with using the slider to set 66 speed.

Quite a few of these conversion are going to end up in a Bharata Varsha (Ancient India) scenario I'm working on as mythological units. An archer version would be greatly appreciated since that's the emblematic warrior weapon in that culture.

I will do bow version also after I finish these.

The sword is already set up, so all I have to do is render the gold version. Gold version will mimic mostly the Silver Charna version:

I know 'lurkers' do not have a good reputation on this forum, but I thought I would risk it anyway: These are truly amazing units! I loved the Beastmaster and this Charna unit is just superb. I love the many attack options and the kick is a nice touch – with armour plated high heeled shoes that’s got to sting... On the issue of her armoured high heels (“Not sure how effective a Knight in full armor wielding a sword is while wearing armored high heels? But what do I know ”, Post 581): Seven of Nine in Star Trek Voyager had high heels, so if an ex-Borg can wear them I don't see any reason why a sword-wielding supernatural female warrior should not be allowed to as well. If it made sense it would not be so much fun...

The name of this unit is nothing than a religious offend to me.:mad:
Change it or Odin will send you forever on my ignore list.

Any reply to this post will place everybody immediately on my ignore list - forever !!!

Spoiler :
Have you completly lost your mind uploading a dancing Ballerina as Valkyrie ???
:trouble::trouble::trouble: :trouble::trouble::trouble: :trouble::trouble::trouble:

Norse mythology is your religion?

That is like saying Kyoto Terrain is offensive to Japan, therefore change the name or I put the whole universe on my ignore list.

No I haven't lost my mind, I don't 'dream' these names up:
You are more than welcome to email Atlantica Online, they are the ones who named it. The file directory it is in is called VALKYRIER1; therefore that is what I put. If you would have asked in a kind manner, I would have had no problem calling her something else (because I really don't care what they are called at all). Instead you throw a rant.

In fact, a bow version of ValkyrieR1 is on the way soon and will be posted.

While you are at it, you should leave posts about these units also:

They all use the word Valkyrie and may not fit whatever description you may view as appropriate.

Does this mean all of CFC is on your ignore list? I'm thinking your post was not being serious, but I won't assume it is.

The Valkyrie were the warrior women of Valhalla who were sent out to gather the most brave vikings who had died in battle. Depicting a Valkyrie as a woman who manages to be both armour AND scantily clad at the same time is in the spirit of the thing. Being Danish myself I would imagine that the Vikings would rather have approved of that image.
On a different note, and apologising profusedly for making any demands on the unit makers - who are doing an amazing job, is there any chance of the silver coloured version going up a well?

just a question - could you convert some animals from Alexander pc game???

I would have to check to see what the game is, if they don't mind, if they are 2d or 3d, and what is involved in converting them... also since I don't own that game, a free demo would have to be available for the game from the companies website (or from an authorized download site).

There are plenty of animals I will be doing from the current AO game including:
Bear, Camel, Chimp, Deer, Eagle, Fox, Lizard, Gorilla, Hyena, Snail, Leopard, Lion, Otter, Owl, Parrakeet, Rhino, Scorpion (much better version than the prev I did), Seal, Sheep, Tiger, Turtle, Warthog, Wild Board, Wolf; and there is an Actual Sabre-tooth tiger already, much more realistic than the one I tried to throw together from the Lion model.

But I will try to take a look at Alexander on the web and see if it is even possible first.

i thank you for the reply. first so much i know the series alexander is from the producers of american conquest and once i took a view on their website and modding articles just to discover that the game is not a real 3d but a very complex multiframe 2d game. for example the dying of a cow has 250 frames which are positioned like a spinning wheel, that means they are not positioned on a direction but the spinning wheel advances 1 frame per direction around the animal. priciply you have only to select the frames you need for a certain direction, and the civ 3 community could have many beautiful animals. thank you again.

PS there is a small program (which i dont remember) that helps you extract all data from these games, you could check that program. many animals also in the related american conquest series
