CHINESE PUMMELED!
Since the fall of Chungking two weeks ago, the Chinese have all but lost their will to fight. The Imperial Japanese Army, using the impetus gained from the stunning blow last week, continued to stamp out the remnants of Chiang Kai-Shek's ragtag hooligans. First, the IJA is happy to report that the heavily fortified city of Sian has fallen to Japan's victorious forces. It is reported that one green Nipponese infantry was lost to their obsolete rifleman regiment. But the subsequent banzai charge led by another green infantry snuffed out the last of Sian's resistance. Chinese leaders who fled Chungking last week weren't able to fully unpack their luggage and are on the move again. Intelligence sources indicated that Chinese leaders are on the run again, this time to the backwater town of Lanchow. In the south, Yamash|ita's army punched through the weak defenses of Chengdu and claimed it in the name of the Mikado. No losses were reported though several barrages of machine gun fire forced some divisions to retreat. The Chinese puppet state's fate has been sealed. The Emperor has already given his approval of the new Chinese leader Wang Ching-Wei, governor of Nanking, to unify China once again and bring the GREACPS into reality.
BRITISH FORCES ARE ON ALAMO'S LAST STAND IN ASIA
Being surrounded on all four sides, there is little hope for the garrison at Mandalay. With the Burma road closed, Mandalay has been cut off from resupply. The desparate defenders tried to break out towards Myityina has been cut down by IJA gallent forces. One MGB division and one Anzac has been killed SW and S of Myitkyina respectively with no losses. South of Mandalay, the British must have forgot about the Nipponese's superior jungle-fighting prowess. One British guerilla nearby was crushed. In addition, the artillery piece based there was captured and was used to demolish Mandalay's walls. It's only a matter of time before this last British bulwark in Asia falls beneath the Emperor's forces.
IJN ADVANCES IN SOUTH UNCHECKED
After weeks of fighting, the Dutch garrison in Palembang has surrendered. Cut from resupply, the native defenders just gave up and went back home. The IJN expeditionary forces report no losses. In revenge for the damage of IJN ships near Bavatia for the past few weeks, the admiral on BB Yamashiro has decided to put an end to the Dutch bathtub navy. CA De Ruyter was sunk in port in Bavatia. On a nearby front, Japanese marines began its work in dismantling the defenses in Tenate. After continuous naval bombardment and marine attacks, the Dutch garrison lost 1 guerilla division and 1 flak unit with no losses for the IJN. In Borneo, the remnants of the Dutch forces, a guerilla and infantry unit were finally mopped up.
US MAINLAND ASSAULT: Editor's view
It is easy for the Americans to tell the British to fight on when it is not US soil being threatened. This week, we brought reality of war into focus for the American people. IJN planes bombed rubber and oil facilities near Portland to ruins. The Mikado has urged repeatedly to the citizens of the US to not interfere with our Asia policies. So far, that message has not been heeded. Perhaps when the reality of war is brought home, the Americans might decide it is better to have a peaceful Pacific rim.
