US SPY CAUGHT RED-HANDED
Imperial internal intelligence services have recently discovered US sympathizers within an undisclosed department in the IJA where they transmitted classified war intelligence back to the US. Prime Minister Koyone was very displeased with the news and ordered many more internal investigations at the various branches of the Imperial military. As to the fate of the traitors, the emperor will personally deal with this matter himself. For now, Japan and GREAPS can once again breathe a sigh of relief.

BOROLOOLA AND CAPE YORK FALLS
In another combined arms maneuver by the IJN and IJA, the towns of Boroloola and Cape York has fallen to the might of Japan. IJA light tanks and infantry divisions assualted Bororolla early last week as IJAF planes pound the defenders. Fantastic results for the IJA: 1 MGB killed, 1 ANZAC killed and 1 guerilla killed outside of the city. IJN marines capture Cape York unchallenged.

RUNNING OUT OF SUBS?
...another week goes by as IJN advanced subs sinks US SS Roughy near Formosa. No losses.

Washington DC: President Roosevelt held his press conference today. Recent combat claims by Japan are true. The US has suffered setbacks. But, US forces are fighting for and besides their CW and NL allies against the Japanese forces.

The President summarized the most recent combat activities.

US Special Agents have caught Japan's spy in San Francisco. The sting operation also produced documents that were handed over to the Navy's Intel Service. The information was deciphered by the HYPO unit and used to affect combat operations.

3 IJN Advanced SS's were sunk in the vicinity of Port Moresby, Kwajalien, and Formosa by a combination of SSs, Air, and Surface Units.

AUSSIE HOMEGUARD FACES ANOTHER DEFEAT
Just yesterday, the brave troops of the newly formed 2nd Colonial Army and its auxillery light tank divisions chased down the fleeing troops from Boroloola. Assisted by constant air support, the IJA made short work of the weary defenders. 3 ANZAC divisions and 1 Flak was killed in combat while the IJA faces no losses. With troops now banging at the door near Eastern Australia, what can the Aussies do? Could they pull off a reversal of fortune?

EUCLA COUNTERATTACK!
Despite drawing troops from Southern Australia to fight in the north, IJA troops remain brave in the face of overwhelming numbers. This week saw the brave men of the 8th Echizen MGB and the 43rd Aomori infantry division taking on the US light tanks and CW guerilla units outside Eucla. Using their night fighting prowess, they managed to destroy the light tanks with minimal damage. The MGB also terminated the guerilla unit with no damage. With this sort of bravery, who can stand against the IJA?

-marine in Cape York killed by marine

TOWNSVILLE FALLS
Despite the setback of losing the 2nd Colonial Army, light tank elements of the 1st Colonial Army and the infantry of the 8th Kwantung Army sought revenge for their fallen comrades. The results were not pleasant for the Aussie defenders. With constant air support, the 8th Army destroyed the feeble light tank and ANZAC division with minimal damage. The 1st Colonial Army surged ahead and captured Townsville uncontested. Another surprise was that the facilities at Townsville were not destroyed. Army officials are led to believe that morale of the Aussie homeguard has finally crumbled and mass desertions are on the rise.

SKIRMISH NEAR RABAUL
IJN naval scouts have discovered the US CV Saratoga outside Rabaul harbour unescorted. Torpedo planes were dispatched to take advantage of this rare opportunity. The carrier did not stand a chance against the superior IJN Nakajima B6Ns. After sustaining a salvo of type 91 torpedos, CV Sarotoga sank. The US have 4 carriers remaining in their Pacific fleet.

CAPE YORK RECAPTURED
IJN marines tried again to retake Cape York late last week. The results were far more successful this time around. With the support of IJN naval aircraft, the elite marine destroyed the remaining redlined light tank division and retook the town. Commander Ishihara was promoted to General as a result of his cunning and bravery in this attack. Another MGL for Japan!

Other news:
-sunk 1 dd in Rabaul with planes

SWPACFLT HQs; US Air Units bombed Jap air units recently transferred to Townsville. Enemy units were injured but no confirmed damage could be made due to poor visibility over the target area and the swarm of Jap Fighters.

USAAF Bombers also hit targets on Truk and again no confirmed damage assessment could be made due to bad weather.

US WITHDRAWS FROM MAINLAND AUSTRALIA
In danger of being overruned, the USAF have abandoned their Aussie brethern in fear of Japanese reprisals. This week saw the US moving all of its air assets back to mainland USA leaving the local defenders bewildered. This is indeed bad news for the Aussie homeguard as it appears that it is the USAF that has been providing tactical air support for their defensive operations. With close air support on the mainland, the Aussie will surely sucumb to the combined might of the IJN, IJA, and IJAF quickly.

DOUBLE-PRONG OFFENSIVE BEGINS
Endgame is nearing for the defenders of Australia as Japan and its GEACPS allies begin their final push towards the Australian captial of Brisbane. On the northeast front, the first pincer prong, land based bombers soften up the defense works around Rockhampton as IJA armies killed one light tank division nearby with minimal damage. In addition to supporting the advancing IJA troops, IJAF bombers began to disrupt the road network near Brisbane. It is only a matter of time before a breakthrough occurs at Rockhampton. On the southern fornt, the second pincer, IJA and GEACPS reinforcements have arrived to once again challenge supremacy over southern Australia. The local MGB garrison recaptured Hopetown uncontested while infantry and light tank divisions advance towards Eucla. Many analysts believe that without US air tactical support, this front will be over very shortly.

PORT MORESBY FALLS
Early last week, IJN admirals once again began their assualt on the mighty British bulwark Port Moresby in New Guinea. After the failed invasion plan a year ago, this time, the IJN admirals were able to regain their honour. IJN naval aircraft hammered the local light tank division as SNLF units advanced into the city. Within a matter of hours, the US defenders surrendered. The flag of Japan now flies over this former British stronghold.

Other news:
1 US sub sank near Palau with sub.

Back from comisurating with my fellow admirals (messing around over a long holiday weekend). Will attempt to get the Allies back on track! Expect turn to CW late tonight.

THOUSAND PLANE RAID OVER BRISBANE
Beginning the campaign of shock and awe, the IJAF began to destroy the production capabilities of the Australian capital of Brisbane late last week. No less than 16 squadrons of planes took off to batter Bribane's production works. The raid resulted in many city improvements destroyed including the factory. Another great blow to the Aussies is the destruction of the airport and harbour facilities. With Brisbane acting as the primary trade hub for the CW, vital supplies such as oil, rubber, and luxuries coming in from the US are greatly disrupted.
