Total Realism FAQ

Barracks.
I'm holding the only two cities of the eastern one of the brittish isles. I'm at war whit half the known world. I got bronze in London, but barracks in both cities. York produces troops too slow, so a barrrack there isn't cost-effective. I need the money it consumes.

In freeciv (linux) it's possible to sell buildings. But just rqzeing it would be great, even if it cost someting.

That would (in TR philosophy) require a whole new layer of AI logics to permit AI players use the feature too. Not the easiest thing to implement - but a thing to consider for sure.

Dunno if this is the correct thread... anyway, here goes. I just got Warlords and dled your awesome mod (played it on civ4 a lot) and patch. But apparently there is a problem. When it's almost done installing, a message pops up:

Extract: error writing to file TK_2.2_WL_Base.fpk.

Some help, please?

Yep. Looks like you are low on HD space. Check BOTH the drive you installing to AND the drive on which your Temp folder is located (installer uses temp folder).

I'm downloading the mod right now (for gold), but can't seem to really find an answer to my question: Do I need to download anything else? I see some posts scattered around about dll fixes, but they're mostly old and it's not clear whether anything else still needs to be downloaded if I download the current total realism mod.

I went to war with another civ for their copper because of those shortage messages  Thanks

Hey,

back after several weeks without direct acces to internet, cant recommend it to anyone :( . I hear 2.4 is close and that there is an open beta. If so i like to try it. Do i have to download patch files for 2.3? or is there an installer? Thanks

Basically, open beta for 2.4 is the new dll that fixes all the crash and resource issues for 2.3. All the content of 2.4 is coming only with its release (or if you get them from our SVN, as always).

Yes i have the new dll and it works great. Was just curious at what 2.4 with the new content had to offer. To be able to view it i have to copy the assets folder from scourgeforge and thats it?

>> can you make civs more like ryhes appearing at historical dates
>> nope, ryhes works because of a world map

Not anymore, check out Rhyes RAND gais =3

Very good mod, and I've played some great ones!

One quick problem:

Playing as the English, I am the only civ to reach the modern age, as of yet. I've just started to build an armored division based upon the Churchill. On the turn change (approximately 635), I saw a large blob moving toward my border in Mongol territory. When the turn change was over, I did an aerial recon over that area, and saw that the Mongols (who are still in the Medieval period) are moving a modern tank battalion towards my territory.

They have no oil, no steel, no aluminum, and have not achieved gunpowder, yet. However, they have this powerful modern unit (combat strength of 48) moving towards my border with them. Is there something that I have missed? My Churchills are only half their strength.

Is this a bug, or is there the possibility that a more "primitive" civ can make a leap in technology, somehow?

Thanks.
