SEGA has just announced the date, when one of their classic X4 games, Total War: Medieval II, will be available for mobile devices. The release date for iOS and Android will be on April 7, and the game will be ported by Feral Games, a specialist in ports to various operating systems.

I'm also not sure why I'd want to try to control Medieval II armies on a phone screen when I can play it on my computer via Steam or the original CDs that I still have.

But I'm glad they haven't forgotten Medieval entirely. Now if only they'd announce Medieval III: Total War, that would be a game I would be interested in.

Agreed. I'd also be interested in Empire 2: Total War.

I got this, more out curiosity than anything else, I must say it handles surprisingly well, it is true of course that a phone screen is much too small to play for any length of time, but it should be fine for a large tablet, for example.

So I now have a portable French campaign that I can take wherever I go, will probably never finish it, but it is nice to have, for when I get locked in an elevator, or something

M3… all TW fans screaming for it but i can‘t agree. For me the setting of the game is really important, and medieval Europe with knights and such is completely not interesting for me… but that‘s just me.

I would like to see a new engine actually, where campaign maps are editable for the modders out there. And then, the announcement of Shogun 3 or Rome 3. :)

I'm afraid that what we need is another studio to restart the genre. :(

There's absolutely no chance whatsoever of any good TW installment being produced by Creative Assembly at this point. That studio is as good as dead.
TW Shogun 2 (and especially FoTS) is one my favourite games of all times, but if a TW Shogun 3 were announced today, it'd still be a hard pass.
