@ Eldar, You might be finishing up the game.... Looks like on turn 3 of your turnset at the latest we could go occupy the Arabic portion of our world. and after that domination should be very close. I'd shave some settlers out of every city again.

@A-K, you should rush these during your turns and start 2/3 of them headed towards the the west and the other third to the North and old Egypt to fill in gaps. I had left my turns with I think 4 settlers moving to open spots and I'm not sure how many MM left, but lets keep the settler packs coming!!!

Looked at the save. Not sure if I can do this in 6. Monte's road net is a joke. Cathy's got a lot of pikes and we're somewhat thin in the north. Hoping we put enough pressure on Monte to get Abu to peace with Monte, then the troops are free to swing south. Not sure I want go after Hammi at all. He's got lots of crusaders wandering aimlessly. Any strong objections to giving Hammi a RoP?
 
I'd say go ahead with the Hammi RoP. That way they are not wandering around our undefended core cities too long. They might get some ideas....

Yeah, there's a whole column of Babylonian forces that were heading back to their own territory (apparently from Russia) throughout my turns. I was sort of tempted to give them a ROP just so they'd stop clogging the roads, but that always makes me nervous when we have so many undefended cities. But go ahead, if you want; I'm probably just paranoid.

I agree that we don't really want to take on Hammurabi unless we have to. In addition to all his crusaders, he's probably not too far from the IA by now, and, being scientific, might just pop Nationalism at some point. Finishing off Cathy, Monty, and possibly a chunk of Arabia should be enough.

I think he's improved a little since. It was a tricky game, though. COTM7-lite, if you like.

I think that I finished GOTM 39 before TR01 got up and going. I've won everyone since. Still working on GOTM 40 but win is inevitable. Just the date and VC is in doubt. (3-4 tech lead & producing cavs out the ying-yang).

Something that I don't understand is when AI have just seen you rip another AI a new one and then they decide that they want to declare :crazyeye: . One more reason why the AI is stupid!! A-K is in the process of revoking my idiots express card. I've maxed my limit!!

Heh, wait 'til you find out what happened to me in GOTM40. It was fun to see a Regent-level AI finally show some teeth!
 
I won't submit GOTM40.. For some reason i never ever finished a single regent xOTM...
I am looking forward for COTM10 though...
Haven't had a chance to invest much time in it with all these SGs going on.
 
Only managed to get another 14%. Eldar gets to finish it.

Pre-turn: Diplomatic and other national intelligence sources locate 7 Russian LB near Bryansk. Spices are needed to complete our set of lux. Monte has no clue how to clear jungle or build a road network. Set prefs to idiot. Dial up Abu and cancel the alliance against Brennus. Wake a few units and take Nicopolis.

760: Capture Teotihuacan, Magadan. Camulodan deposes.

770: Retake Cam. Take Irkutsk, Kazan'. Sign RoP with Hammi. Drop lux to zero. National intelligence sources determine Abu has no salt.

780: Take Kharbarovsk, pop MGL. Anthony used to rush Pentagon in Dmandinium. Take Teno. Abu takes Tzin. Atzcapotzolo deposes to Monte, taking 2 cav with it.

790: Take Malinaco, Novosibirsk. Build New Rome. Take Nippur, pop another MGL, form army. Teno. deposes (no garrison).

800: Retake Teno. Capture Tver', Raze Atzcapotzolo. Build Caeseraugusta, New Veii. I miss a LB landing at Arretium, lose our source of gems.

810: Retake Arretium. Build New Antium, New Cumae. Chita destroyed. Cathy has a settler on a boat. Not gonna make. Abu captures Tula. Malinaco deposes. Trapezus wants to be Arab.

820: Retake Malinaco. Capture Tlaxcala.

830: Something about Tlateloco, think I took it. Monte has Teayo and Campoala left. Build New Neopolis. Hammi's army finally does something and takes Teayo.

840: Build New Pompeii. The rampaging Arabs destroy the Aztecs, voiding the contracts with Hammi and Abu. Only remaining deal is RoP with Hammi.

850: Clean up a little. Lots of moves left. Eldar gets to play with most of my turn 10 remaining. Lots of builds can be changed and cavs rushed. Troops should be shifted to the Arab borders. Declare in 860 or 870 when you're ready. Our score is 2041. We have 59% of the world. There's 2000g to burn. I started saving after I saw we weren't gonna beat the 820 deadline. I did no trades. We have 4 arimies and the pentagon.

We might want to rush few temples on eldar's pre-turn
Especially in coastal towns.
Coastal tiles also count towards domination limit, so if temples are built there - less tiles for us to capture...
Also rush temples everywhere we have gaps and not going to be able to put settlers in next 4 turns (4 turns it takes for city to expand).
Settlers are preffered way to grab land, but temples will work as well...

For example look at AENIGMA SG where i moved from 36% to 56% (or something like that) in just 10 turns mostly by filling the space only.

EDIT: Actually i am only guessing on what is going on, since we don't have a screenie for idiots :)

MORE EDIT: When we play DG game pentagon is the very last wonder to rush...
In C3C it's really useless 99% of the time with very rare exception. In this game we don't really need 4 pop armies, but would be better actually with one extra army instead.

MORE MORE EDITS: Finally at the end of the game I found something ot disagree on with Admiral :lol:
 
might want to sell some lux to Hammi for whatever he'll give us to help keep him honest. I did rush a bunch a temples to fill gaps. Wanted to leave Eldar some cash to play with. I also have some workers clearing a marsh that will fill a big gap when we get a city up.

what were your ideas on it???

mine are:
1. Use random standard map but choose really nice startup location.
There is a gap between emperor and monarch, but IMHO there is even wider gap between emperor and DG. So i suggest giving us some food advantage.
2. Civilizations - let's choose those in advance as well... I'd play anybody but Mongols (already in 2 mongol games) and Mayas (overplayed on hard levels), Osmans and Rome (just played both)
Possible alternatives - Iro's, Russians, Germans, French, Hittites (latter get pottery and alphabet for startup - really powerful combination)
3. Map type - continents (pangea will have way too fast research rates, islands aren't as good for training game IMHO)
4. Barbarians - no harder than roaming (actually roaming on DG is like raging on Emperor).
5. Sci. Leaders - off
