BTW, I submitted my GOTM41 and got a 9751!!! I was VERY surprised by that!! any more info would be a spoiler though. Thanks again for all of the help that I've received from you guys. :worship:

Darn, beat me by ~300! Mind you I should've registered my first 10k and pre-1000AD win in that game, but didn't. It's going to be high scoring, though - I predict 11k for the top 10-15 places.

Yeah I noticed a lot of way earlier wins than mine. So I wouldn't doubt it if there were some 12k or maybe even a 13k score out of this one. I thought that Jason scores were supposed to nominallize around 10k for a "perfect" game.

I didn't even try to go for early win knowing i will be beaten.

Well I was was one turn into SGOTM6 (TR03 was immmediately after it) when I got a call from a friend that her water heater was overflowing. After not being able to diagnose the problem over the phone I ventured over to her newly created marsh and stopped the source and spent the next 2-3 hours sucking up water. Now I know why it takes workers so long to clean marsh up in [C3C].

Long story short. I didn't get to play the turnset and I'll get to it tonight. I might take the afternoon off and get them knock out quicker but we'll have to see how things go this morning.
 
First the 950 AD save.

t0 850 AD - turned off research
Discovered the power of cops. (made a few towns previously only having 1 uncorrupted shield into 3-5 shield "powerhouses"

Declare on Cathy.
Sign up good ole Henry for WM, Coal, Spices, & 120G
1st priority - disconnect salt -> done
2nd priority kill any stray cossacks within reach -> 4 killed (3 on mountain)
3rd priority take cities -> 2 on first turn

IT: 9 cossack assaults result in 4 cossack deaths 5 of our cav deaths and Bursa was razed, Toledo was re-captured

t2 870AD
killed cossacks pilaged horses

IT: Madrid captured. It was either that or Bede's Silk Pjs and the thought of a monk sleeping in the nude bothered me

t3 880AD razed some russian city killed a few cossacks, rifles, & a longbow
Cathy's hurting for military. Lots of her cities are defended by pikes & spears. But now she is able to draft a rifle.

checked and we are strong against Henry.

t9 940AD - Henry is letting his Privates run around. I just saw a frigate go to the same square as a private

t10 950AD - Everyone loves the king. I got 2 palace improvements (my 2nd & 3rd of the turnset)
take the last vestage of CAthy and threw her off of the earth!
Then the trade embargo between us and Russia and france ended

I have a few settlers running around. Each and every trun you can rush either 4 or 5 cavs or a bunch of settlers. Do this!!! Or you can save up and rush an army every other turn or so. I recommend going after Henry within the first 2 turns of the next turnset. Any more delay is just wasting turns. I think that you can do it on your first turn. Cannons are on their way to the Porto territory. Henry only has one source of salt. 12 cities and 7 of those are on OUR land. Take him out quick. I'd recommend a strategy of raze-resettle. I think that Henry has 4-6 handbuilt wonders. including 2 during my turns.

EDIT::: Should we be thinking about TR04? Any suggestions? I'd like to try a strict OCC on Emperor, but I'm open to changing my mind.

208 tiles from domination. ~55%
pop is @ 61% I think

With the addition of the leftover land in Cathy's old stomping grounds and Henry's leased property we can reach it I believe.

Portugal has 231 including his outlying island holdings. It'll be close, but I think that with expansion into coastal tiles and the territory aforementioned, we should have it.
 
Surely TR04 should be Deity. Making TR05 Sid ;)

I have been. There should be some cultural expansions about turns 2-3 of dmans set.

Some of the spaces it just didn't make sense to plant a town. Also Cathy did a poor job with her land. Jungles & swamp galore. That's what slowed me down, or I would have already been at war with Henry!

Dman I know that you already know this, but keep getting settlers out. I think that the army will out pace the settlers. We have a bunch or RR crews, they've been averaging 3-4 tiles railroaded per turn.

Also there are some of Henry's troops in old Russia. They need to be taken care of too.
 
We are short on Workers. 3-4 RR crews isn't much, and most of them are slaves. Not that it matters at this point, it might if we were aiming for another VC.
 
yep, settlers will surely help a lot...
especially when we will need to fill all the empty areas around captured portugese towns.
I won't be able to play tonight though...
But tomorrow for sure.
 
My main goal for the RR crew was to connect cities so defenders can travel to an endangered spot. I don't really think that we need every tile railroaded. In another VC maybe but not in this situation.

Most of our cities are connected except the far norther cities and the newly acquired Russian cities. I've started RRing up to Henry's borders too so get those animals over there.
 
I was thinking about rolling some starts for TR04. Should we go Diety no other stipulation or go for a strict OCC on Emperor or Demi-God?

For OCC It should probably be a pangea. I'm thinking not wet climate but not dry either way.

I have to admit that I'm curious to see whether we could pull off the win at Deity. On the other hand, all of the games I've been in lately have been fast domination-type games, so I wouldn't really mind trying something different. An Emperor OCC might be a bit much, though.
