Trick or Treat: Halloween Unit Request Thread

Last night I started my first ever game of the Warhammer 2.5 mod. I played a random map as a random civilization, and I was given Sylvania—I think that's the given name, anyway. Regardless, I had an army of skeletons, gouls, vampires, and the like.

Today, while I was continuing my game, seeing all of these units reminded me that Halloween was coming up at the end of the month. So, I thought I might open a Halloween-themed unit request thread.

Here's the deal. I'm working on a unit right now. I'm almost done with the animations. When that's done, then I want to put together a "Happy Halloween" unit to be released for Halloween. I'll do my best to finish the unit in time, but extenuating circumstances could always arise, so no promises.

So, if you want to, request a Halloween-themed unit. I'll select one and turn it into a unit. And, in the interest of transparency, I should let you all know that my girlfriend will be offered the chance to help me select the request—yes, she who is the impetus behind Kool-Aid Man and my clown unit. For what it's worth, she was also a strong supporter of the snowman in the unit request tournament this summer.

What does Halloween-themed mean? Well, that's up to you to interpret . . . and maybe make a case for. If it isn't Halloween enough for me, then I won't select it. That's all I'll say.

God, finaly! I have been waiting for this since I joined :D

Kudos to ED for making that Vampire, that fits perfectly with the old edition of Warhammer Vampire Counts, but the problem is I hated the old edition, Von Carsteins looked like pansies, Brad Pitt-type of thing, not like fearsome warriors. I just read Steven Saville`s Vampire Wars Omnibus about Warhammer Vampires, and I would like to request a Warhammer Vampire unit! Here is some inspiration (I think Konrad`s mini looks best, 2 swords are not neccesary tho :)):

Thanks, utah!

Great idea. I would like to see a Dr Jekyll/Mr Hyde unit complete with transformation. We could use that in the steampunk mod too.

Sweet, I always love these! My Nazgul (on horeseback) request is hopefully creepy enough for a Halloween theme!

Predator! Predator! The only predator we have is actually a hover tank! He could have a spine-slinging victory and active camouflage! Predator is humanoid, and pretty horrific. And, plus, we could make an Alien vs. Predator scenario! Yeah baby yeah!

And she's back!
A traditional witch, because Halloween is surely her favourite season of the year.:scared:

The broom is mandatory, the flying monkey is optional; a black cat, a kettle or a teapot may serve as other parafernalia.

Well when I first read your post vampire popped in my head so I will second Stormrages request although his picture links are not working.

Erm, I mean that I'd like to request the Dread Cthulhu, an eldritch abomination created by none other than the father of modern horror himself, H. P. Lovecraft (and if you don't know who Lovecraft is, shame on you!)

And since it's an election year, this is entirely appropriate:

I just learned of this stuff playing the Arkham Horror board game a couple of weekeneds ago.

OK I opened it up this thread in another browser and now I could see the images that were red X's before. They look almost like armored vampires very cool. I definately will stick with seconding them.

Why choose a lesser evil? Aha ha ha ha! Too funny...

I third the Nazgul (Black Rider version, i.e. on a black horse) request.

Don't like Meetha Paan, Mukhwas, or Gulab Jamun for your treat? Then how about this for a trick:

Boogedy, Boogedy, Boo!

Spoiler :
Rakshasa - a Hindu Demon:

Preferred attributes:
  • Blue Skin (although, as widely as their appearance varies, even the skin could be civ - colored)
  • Exaggerated features such as big bellies, huge tusks or a beak, bulging eyes, ears as big as their head, and their peculiar head shape
  • Bands or stripes of color on their heads are another possibility for civ-color
  • Claws instead of finger & toe nails
  • More than 2 arms - different weapons & a couple can just use claws
  • Multi-colored wings ( not for flying, think of a rooster's display in a cockfight) - another possible civ-color spot
  • The illustrated clothing style - lots more civ-color possibilities

They don't have to match human size units (bigger is okay). They're strong but clumsy fighters - the attacks can be simple. One arm doing the actual attack while the others just move. Also, I'd be willing to sacrifice either the wings or the multiple arms if doing both is too intense.

The Rakshasa are a key civilization for the Bharata Varsha mod I'm working on. These guys are needed as their elite units.

So many great ideas! I was originally going to suggest a pumpkin head, thinking of old Sam Hain from the Ghostbusters cartoon, and I like MJStark's pumpkin headed horseman, as well as Hikaro's vote for Cthulhu (who doesn't love HP Lovecraft?) but the Carstein-type Vampire would be most useful (for me at least) so I vote for Stormrage's idea.
