Hokay, looks decent.
Your english is readable, so no worries there. On the report, I do have a few things I would have included (had I written it):
- We popped horses just north of the current borders of Paris. Those will be available to us in 6 turns (as of the end of your set) when the borders pop again.
- It would have been good to include a screenshot of the current status of our progress towards getting the copper mined and roaded.
- Since it is very early game, I also would have included a list of what was built, how many forests were chopped to do so, and the reasoning.
Otherwise, good report
On to the actual status of things...
- I already mentioned the horses, that's a GOOD thing for us
- Looking at the save, it looks like you chopped a total of 3 forests (two during the settler, overflow from second chop went to warrior in queue, and then the third you chopped to rush the warrior??) A little bothered by that, since even though we do have a lot of forests, they still should never be wasted to chop-rush a warrior!
Instead, you should have been mining the hill until AH was ready, interrupt that to build the pasture -> finish the mine -> start roads towards Orleans and our copper.
- Also notice that because of the chops, we have the extra warrior, we're still size 2, but we're down a forest that we could have chopped to rush a second worker and the production in queue is towards another warrior we certainly don't need yet. It would have been much better to let the first warrior finish naturally, then start another one (no chopping!) until the city grew - at that point put a worker in queue and do the third chop.
- When exploring, try to walk on hills whenever possible, you'll reveal a lot more land a lot more quickly. Not a big deal, but just an fyi
So, my main complaint is that we weren't as efficient this round as we could have been (same on my initial round with building roads instead of the mine). That's something I'm sure we all need to focus on while playing, as it's one of the things that will make the difference between being successful at prince vs. noble.
----------------------------
For the next round (whoever can grab it and play quickly, say so), here's my thinking:
- Let the warrior in the queue in Paris finish naturally, or continue that way until the city grows another pop - then start the worker immediately. Micro-manage (MM) the tiles to make the city grow faster rather than focus on production. If the warrior will finish before the city grows, start a building (like a barracks) until the city grows and then start the worker.
- Chop a forest to help rush the worker. MM the city to get the fastest build for the worker.
- In Orleans, there's a worker about 6? (don't have the save open atm) turns from finishing - let it finish and get the copper mined/roaded, then build another road in the little borders towards Paris, then hook up the marble.
- Use the first worker near Paris to finish the mine -> chop the next worker -> road towards Orleans.
- Use the second worker from Paris to hook up & road to the horses.
For building, in Paris continue whatever was in the queue before the worker until the copper is hooked up -> start building axes with tiles MM'd for max production. In Orleans, start a barracks after the worker and then move to axes once the copper is hooked up (MM for max production here also). Depending on the number of turns, it may be worth finishing the barracks in Orleans before starting on axes. We will also want a few chariots once the horses are hooked up, although I think that will be done in the round after this next one.
On techs, I think Poly -> Priesthood is just fine.
Also, I'm going to make an executive decision and say that the next round will be another 30 turns instead of only 20. Depending on the status at the end of the next round, the following will either be 20 (slightly more than normal) or jump straight into 15-turn rounds (what will be our norm).
Thoughts on my plans?
edit: I see Rince posted a got it - can you play & report in the next 24 hours? (yes I know the rules give more time, but if we can keep it moving before the play-order is set I would like to).
