[TSL] Yet (not) Another Earth Maps Pack

Dear Gedemon,

I think you should remove some European City-States because I find it very hard to expand as England or Germany

Your Friend,
HisAwesomeness

Denmark DLC announced. What do you plan to do for them?
first I need to manage the way they've changed the City States, second I need to decide where to place the Starting Position for Denmark.

Copenhagen will be too close of Berlin, so I may choose Oslo instead (and maybe rename the Denmark DLC civ to "Norse" or "Scandinavia" ?)

you should set the "CS separation" option from "minimum" to "close" (or higher), that will give more space for european nations

Try to stay on Great Britain ;)

Hmm, that would be kind of odd seeing a Danish speaking Norse. But maybe.

Would it take a toll on computers to upscale Europe (not including Great Britain)To be able to make Denmark bigger (with the islands off the mainland)

is it possable for u to allow every civilization in the game on ur gaint map (the really big one). cause i think its going to be up to 24 civs includeing denmark, and ur only aloud to have 22 on 1 map.

maybe it could be done without changing the size of the map by moving all Scandinavia north, but then I need to find the time to do that...

we'll need the dll SDK for allowing more than 22 civs ingame.

new version uploaded !

here's the change log :

v0.9 (May 08, 2011):
- redrawned Scandinavia on giant map
- added TSL for Denmark on all maps
- added Rotterdam and Reykjavic CS to defaut and extended CS mod, with TSL for Giant and huge map.
- removed some european CS (Venice, Brussel, Budapest, Bucharest) from the default CS mod
- renamed Denmark civilization to Scandinavia
- City States : keep Oslo and Copenhagen, add Sydney and Quebec City TSL
- tweaked : change Iroquois TSL to make room for Quebec city
- added TSL for almost all CS on huge map
- bug fix : final map setup was called only when starting a game in ancient era, works with all start eras now.
- added function : save values for general options (game speed, era, difficulty)
- changed Ragusa TSL to Croatia
- Oslo and Copenhagen automatically removed from CS database when using Denmark DLC and any of YnAEMP CS mod. (note : if you don't use CS mod, only Copenhagen will be removed from the DB. Oslo will be removed from the game only if Denmark is one of the 22 civs selected at game launch)

remember to update the default and extended city states mod to get the complete list of change, and don't forget to remove the old versions.

I've seen that the mod association is half-working since the latest patch, once finished the CS mods management will get easier.

Awesome. Amazing.

Awezmazing.

Unscaled Scandinavia looks so nice! Though i suggest in future version you should add more grasslands to Scandinavia, especially Norway.

Croatia is still named Ragusa.

I have a question, is it possible to choose which city states you would always want in the game? I was kind of ":/" ish when I saw that Austria, Helsinki, as well as Korea were not in my game.

thanx :D

I'll add a few grass in Norway.

well, I meant Ragusa is now positioned in Croatia.

for the city states, if you use the extended mod, some won't appears in game because of the 41 limit, and we can't choose which ones yet (DLL access needed).

but if you use the standard CS mod, all could be in game as there are less than 40 in that mod (I've removed some Europeans CS from this version, but I think Vienna and Helsinki are left in if I remember correctly...)

Yeah, there's often a lot of land to settle, but the AI's attitude discourages expansion. Should I be playing a longer-than-standard-length game on this map (read: would doing that fix the expansion issue), or should (can) you make the AI a bit less reluctant to pump out settlers every once in a while?

Suggestions for Ynaemp City States (the standard version)

Remove the two city states of Quebec and Sydney, and replace with Monaco and Geneva.

I think you should remove those two, because they are very historically inaccurate (Sydney in 4000 BC?), add those two city states because despite Europe having a lot of city states, western Europe (France) is kind of bare with city states, with the east having the most.

This has been around for quite some time....
2 months???

I've not tried to do a quick fix for this as I hope to include it in a dynamic history version of the map.

But as this is long term, I'll look to mods that will boost AI expansion (anyone know if there is one, or if smellymummy's ICS mod still working ?)... That not so easy, because you'll want to be able to place cities 2 tiles apart in Europe, but doing so on the whole map will quickly make the game unplayable (too slow and crashes)

So another fix should be included then (like changing minimum city distance by region, and maybe accelerating culture spread in regions where cities are build with 3-4 tiles of separation, less maintenance for road in those regions to keep the expansion viable...)

The dynamic history version will have civs and CS spawning at different times on the map.

I'm pondering making a standalone version of that part of the mod for test purpose, but my modding time is limited...

You're right, thanks for reporting this bug, I'll have a look at it.

Oh, wow! That sounds interesting! Care to enlighten us about that?

I think that this mod is great and Firaxis should pay you some many for doing their job. This mod should be included in commercial version.

I have one question about dynamic history version. I think that it is a great idea but what is interesting for me is how you want to add new CS during game? Do you have ready function for it? If yes pls publish it. I need it to finish my map script concept.
Best regards
