Yes! Been waiting for this. Already subscribed, liked, and favorited. Thanks man, and good work!

When it's out, I don't have early access... BTW you (a global "you", I mean everyone here) can help by posting the list of new civilizations and known City-States, if possible with a link to the start position on google map ?

Ho, don't remember that !

I want to add specific resources to CS since a long time, maybe I had implemented it a while back and don't remember it, or it was just the beginning of the implementation there... I'll have to check my code to know :D

is there any way to load a different map in the mod - basically use a modified earth map with a little changed, resources already in place, and make it load the TSL for all civ's and city states, like the normal mod? any help would be appreciated!!! :]

you can try to edit the map and add your own resources, should work.

Anyone to help ?

G&K is out tomorrow and R.E.D. Modpack will get priority... And I'll be away for 2 weeks starting saturday...

tried, and it just crashes like before. :/

I'm just replacing the map file in the mod folder with the new map, renamed to the old one. It crashes when trying to start the game...

ho, I thought you meant to edit one of the existing map to place resources... Adding a complete new one is possible but require a bit of lua and xml editing.

I gave it a go, based on the following:

Here's what I got (in matching order of the table in the above link):

http://goo.gl/maps/APl6
http://goo.gl/maps/wkzy

Hope this helps a bit!

Ignore Ethiopia's - not sure if I got that right, as that's today's capital and not necessarily the one used in-game for the historic empire.

England and the Celtic Empire are both going to be screwed because they're both major civs sharing the English Isles. What little land either civ has to start with is essentially cut in half. :(

Therefore: WAR! :D

Turns out I was right about Ethiopia.

As for the Hunnic Empire, I chose Budapest because that's where it seems many people considered their power to be "concentrated."

Otherwise, no one has any idea whatsoever. In-game the capital is referred to as "Attila's Court."

All the links I listed ought to be correct.

Meaning, fun times! It's no problem - the Ottomans and Greece are right next-door to each other on this map too. Adds an interesting dynamic.

Also, looks like we'll only be able to choose EITHER the Ottomans or the Byzantines, as both have the same exact capital city.

This may have already been suggested, but you could really place them anywhere in the green area here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Huns_empire.png Hungary's not a bad choice at all (and indeed whoever made that map agreed with you). Still, in the early part of Atilla's life, he might have held court somewhere to the east of there.

On this point, in the RFC mods for Civ4, Rhye placed the Ottoman capital in Sogut, which is somewhere over here: https://maps.google.com/maps?q=sogu...&t=h&hnear=Söğüt/Bilecik+Province,+Turkey&z=6

Alternatively, the modern capital of Turkey is Ankara, somewhere over here: https://maps.google.com/maps?q=Anka...&t=h&hnear=Ankara/Ankara+Province,+Turkey&z=6

Better still, if you go back far enough the Ottomans came out of Central Asia somewhere. Putting both the Huns and the Ottomans in that area would help fill a big blank in the map and free up crowded territory in Europe.

Though none of those would really be "Istanbul," and ultimately may look a little weird. Just thinking out loud :)

Hmm, honestly we have so many civilizations now, and the .dll has not yet been released to unlock all civilizations for a map - so I'm alright with having to choose one or the other.

Plus, yeah, as you said, putting Istanbul in a not-Istanbul location would be quite odd.

I plan to add real city name based on position, but it's a huge task I could not do alone with all my other mods. Basically city name should be based on actual era, position, and civilization.

The code can be made quickly enough, it's filling the XML with data for the code to use that will take time.

First Ottoman capital was city of Bursa. The turkish people did come from Central Asia, not Ottoman empire (starting point in anatolia, present Turkey). if you put the Ottomans in Central Asia you wouldn't only put the capital in the wrong place but you would also put the Civilization in the wrong place. Gøkturks (skyturks) was the name of the civilization in Central Asia.

I was wondering if it possible to stop at certain age.
like playing from the ancient era to the renaissance era and stop there.
